Friendly staff and the hotel has a lot of charm. Our room on the top floor looked over the river with many ancient and beautiful trees. Very nice self service breakfast and great coffee. The carpets on the stairs were in need of a good clean and many of the old features of the building were broken and just left giving a dilapidated feel which spoilt its old world charm.

Quiet location except for the soothing murmur of the river Etsch running by right in front of the garden. Conveniently located between railway station and old town. Classical ambience from k.u.k times with a little wear and tear here and there. Nice breakfast room with garden option and tasty breakfast. Going up one flight of stairs to the main entrance only to go back down one flight to the reception. Being footsore, after the first time I used the back entrance through the breakfast room to reach the reception an elevator at level.

A beautiful old building, lovely rooms with high ceilings. Faded grandeur, it looks a bit tired now and needs a bit of a revamp. Checking in was lengthy and seemed very thorough with passports kept overnight.

Location, free parking, matras, service at breakfast, cleaning The carpets, wooden floor, windows, etc. were all very old, not maintained and frankly rotting away. This was the first time that I found the photos on Booking.com to be misleading. The atmosphere is that of a villa that looked like it had closed decades ago. The beds and closet were antique and original. The rest of the interior of my room consisted of cheap lamps and pictures on the wall that were functioning but very outdated. Just that you know: The heating is centrally organized. It is off at night until 6.30 AM whereas temperatures outside were below 0 C.

Hosts had very friendly character, and very helpful. Hotel had a wonderful old time charm.

Good hotel near the center of Meran for a short stay. The hotel is a bit old but has charme. Breakfast is appropriate for the category and there s a parking place for guests. Mattresses

Great breakfast. And they also serve very good dinners. So you need not to go out when tired in the evening. Very helpful and kind staff. Great location close to railway station, directly at promenade along the river. Genius loci

Lovely family run hotel in easy walking distance of restaurants and shops along the riverbank. The room was quirky and comfortable with a balcony to sit out on. Great breakfast with delicious coffee. Parking was in the hotel grounds so easy to access. The shower in the bath was a bit slippery - a mat for the less steady like me would have been a comfort. I would have loved a kettle in our room so we could sit on the veranda with a cup of tea.

super beautiful facility - it felt like being back in the early 1900s nothing

it was clean Announcing it is possible to lock in a bike is called false advertising (see questions on FAQ). The "bike stand" is a lose metal rack outside that anyone can walk away with. Wr had to pay a 50 Euro charge because we took one bike upstairs, we would've never booked here had we known this place wasn't bike friendly at all. Not recommended if you are traveling with expensive bikes.

Great location, a real hidden gem. Great breakfast. The interior has seen better days but definitely matches the entire experience. Traditional and glorious.

The hotel was in a quiet location except for some early morning train noise. Breakfast was fine and breakfast server was polite. The hotel is run down. The hallway carpets and upholstered furniture are very soiled. The room was cleaned each day, but the shower over tub in bathroom did not have a door or shower curtain in our room or our friends room, so the floor can get quite wet. We used bath towels to wipe up floor. Beware of apparent problem with the owner being able to process the room charge in Euros. Both my friend and I requested our credit cards be charged in Euros and the woman made a mistake both times and charged us is dollars. This resulted in a 3.35 % additional charge on our bill.

True old-charm experience. Beautiful villa, nice view to the river. Good choice for breakfast. Villa is beautiful but needs renovation (although it had its positive charm). Internet for an extra fee was surprising.
