The check in system works very well. As this location is fully automated one would need some technical experience. The host I must say was on top of everything. We used WhatsApp and found that it was our best way of communication. The tiny elevator that takes you to the 5th floor apartments. But that is a building situation and not the hotels.

Comfortable, clean and good equipped room. Dinning room with a balcony and sea view. Very easy self check-in. Half an hour walking to the city center of Messina. Free parking area on the street behind the corner. Noisy opening and closing of entrance doors

Booking was easy, and the host, Luigi, accommodated our request promptly. Access was easy and, being on the fifth floor, the lift was ideal. Our room was cosy, spotlessly clean and had comfortable beds. The bathroom was a good size, and the mosquito netting over the windows is the way to go. The room had a courtyard view but the breakfast lounge was something else. The lounge view is Stunning. It offers uninterrupted views of the Messina Straits with all the delights of ferry traffic, local harbour ships, visiting Cruise Ships, and international shipping movements through the Straits. It is stunning in the morning and stunning at night, too. What a find. The B&B is on the tram route, and we enjoyed using that to get about. There is an array of local shops, eateries, and Ritrovo Dello Stretto, a nice little bar run by Davide, who supplies Breakfasts if ordered. Breakfast is delivered to be enjoyed alongside the morning view :) Luigi was easy to contact, and we like the trend toward remote B&B management.

A large well equipped room close to the port. We were able to use the communal lounge before check in which was useful as we arrived earlier than anticipated. Comfortable bed and good check in instructions.

Directly across from the beach, self check in, huge en-suite, gorgeous balcony view. So quiet and relaxing. It’s a walk into the main town however our main purpose was to be by the beach and was easy to get transport and walk.

Decent room. Clean.We just wanted a stopover on the way south and this did the job. By this time on our tour I was getting tired of the ever increasingly complicated scenarios involved in getting access to rooms with absent owners. By early evening after a day travelling I don’t want to follow a 20cm column of instructions on which code to enter at ground level, directions to a specific lift, another code for another door at a higher level then instructions as to where to find the key at that point to the actual room. The only contact from the owner was to ask when I was leaving (when I’d just arrived) and to inform me not to touch the coffee machine as I hadn’t paid for coffee.

When I checked out, I could not get an Uber as the system was busy, but the team downstairs assisted me and called a taxi for me, and assisted me the whole time. Very friendly and professional overall!

The location to the ferry and easy access to the tram which the owner advised us to take from the train station. The room was clean and met our needs. It’s a self check-in place which is not our preferred lodging abroad. At 6am I tried to take a shower and there was no water. I texted the owner on what’s app and didn’t get a response. Understandably. Fortunately 45 minutes later the water came on but we spent an uneasy 45 minutes thinking we would feel dirty all day.

The front terrace over looking the harbour was a great space to sit and have a nibble and wine ! Convenient to the tram line ! We felt a bit uncomfortable using glasses from the kitchen and preparing our food their ?
