Cool design of the hotel Practically its no WIFI here ——> no Tv Windows are very small in standard room, so, its like living in a cave)) Cafe and restaurant in open space inside the hotel, so if drunk company having nice time, you will basically have it too)))

    The staff

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Staff was great. Facilities great. Modern room, lots of amenities. Great location. Felt very safe. Lots of places to lounge. Enjoyed my stay. You can hear the other room very easily, the other person sneezing. People can just smoke outside your room. Restaurant is pricey. Housekeeping cleaned my room even though I had a do not disturb sign on the door.

Entire Experience went well. Room was great, only thing should warn older people about no elevator and 3 floor walk up. Could be an issue for some

Wonderful location just off the Paseo , near La Zona Rosa. The 7 Metro Bus stop Hamburgo is at the end of the street . Very nice location and the hotel is lovely, good restaurant and wonderful pool. Can’t think of anything as the staff were very helpful with storing your luggage and making you feel welcomed and safe

Location Worst stay ever. The venue had a private event all day. The second day they were getting ready for another event. Started unloading woods dividers and bricks at 6 am. Trash all over the lobby and pool. Workers around the pool. Hammering and shouting all day.

Great location! Very comfy bed. Enjoyed the aesthetic and atmosphere Front desk staff weren’t very helpful. Originally gave me a room with broken AC, musty smell and birds living in the vent (room 304). When I came back down and requested new room they lied and told me no other rooms were available, when I checked online and saw there were and I persisted for a different room they found me a new room magically. This room was smaller than my original room which I didn’t accept and said I’d need to speak with a manager because they should be upgrading the room not downgrading it. They obviously didn’t want me to talk to the manager because now they magically found another room identical to my first room and right beside it. Once I finally got settled I enjoyed the room. But didn’t appreciate being deceived and lied to.

The location was decent and the pool (when it was usable) was nice. The room looked like a parking garage with no natural light and the air-conditioning could not go below 20 degrees celcius. The walls and ceiling were rough, unfinished concrete—not the kind of vibe we were hoping for in Mexico City. In addition to there being no natural light in this cave-like room, the artificial lighting in the room wasn’t bright enough. The bed was small and uncomfortable and while the water pressure in the shower was good, the knobs to turn on the shower/control the temperature were confusing (no labels) and physically difficult to use. The same was true of the sink. We also experienced extensive leakage from the air-conditioner that the staff were slow to fix. The elevator could not be used without the assistance of staff which was quite inconvenient, and again, the staff were slow to help with it. Overall, we found the staff to be unhelpful and often incompetent—many of them were also not proficient in English (yes, we understand this was in Mexico but they are working in the service industry in a hotel catering almost exclusively to foreign tourists). While Mexico City is known for its friendliness, Hotel Carlota’s staff were not. Furthermore, there was also no phone in the room so it was impossible to call down to the front desk. Our room was also rarely cleaned, as maid service knocked on our door each day around 8:30 AM when we (like most hotel guests) were still asleep—this knock woke us up most mornings. And despite there being a decent restaurant in the hotel, there was no room service, either. Hotel Carlota is definitely undeserving of its 5 stars.
