Hotel Breakwater South Beach

The room and view was amazing. I rented the Suite from 06/25/26 thru 06/27/2026. The first night June 25 my birthday at check in time my room was not ready until 5:30 pm. and check in time was at 4:00 pm. I spoke with front desk staff and inquired about food and drink voucher I was provided a bottle of wine. I was informed by staff that the facility was short staff. I got into my room after 5:00 pm and 30 minutes in the room the TV did not work. The manager came up and switch the TV out however he left and the volume on the TV did not work. I contacted the front desk and was informed by staff that there was nothing that can be done because he could not fixed the volume on the TV. I was told to pair the remote control with the TV and I did that and it did not pair. I notified the front desk for two days that I was there and I was unable to watch TV. I had the staff place a note in the computer so that I would not be charged for issues with the TV. On June 26 the electric went out in the Suite and it was out for over 5 hours it was hot, humid. and my steak dinner was ruined in the refrigerator. I notified the front desk and they sent a text to maintenance and no one never came to check the lights. I went out so that I would not have to sit in the dark when I returned to the suite the lights was still out. I went to the front desk staff and I requested maintenance to fix the light a guy was standing at the desk he appeared to be maintenance and he came up to the suite.

Just a great place to stay.

Hotel charged me additional $80 for 2 nights which was not mentioned in the offer. Also smell in the room was bad, probably because of mould in Air Conditioning. Good I stayed for 2 nights only, if it was more I wouldn't be satisfied at all. Room was relatively clean except the windows. Also room cards didn't work, I was advised not to keep it close to phone or wallet, but where else I should keep it? I tried to keep it away from all devices in my bag but it was too close anyways.

Great location and clean amazing however the card reader sometimes gives some issues other than that perfect.

Great location clean rooms. Pool needs work more chairs and umbrellas! Also the bikes are great but they need maintenance.

No airconditioner

I had an awful experience literally from start to finish and have plenty of pictures and videos for proof. The hotel is completely disgusting, outdated, and I feel like I was scammed. The photos online and the rooms in person do not align. Do not stay here unless you want to shower with your shoes on and sleep on top of the covers. My phone literally did not have a power cord so if there was an emergency I couldn’t even dial 911. I informed them and still did not receive a phone. I could go on and on with details about how poor my stay was.

The personal was very polite

The clean service was really good, there are a lot of shops and restaurants nearby.

First, the front desk agent (the girl with curly hair) was amazing, and the other girl was also very helpful. However, the guy with the beard and brushed-up hair at the front desk was not very helpful and gave us a hard time. We asked for water because we only received it on the first day, and he only gave us one glass from the bar when we asked for three. He also made things difficult for us when we couldn’t open our door while we were exhausted, and we had to go back and forth from the elevator. One night, the AC wasn’t working, and it was very hot so we couldn’t sleep, but it was fixed the next morning. On the positive side, housekeeping did a really great job.

The rooms smelled like mold to the point of your throat burning. Tried covering it up with Pinesole Had to change rooms. Still smelled like mold but less than the other room. Ther refrigerator didn't work in either room. The pool water looked like every kid in the neighborhood swam in it. They offered beach chairs which was cool until they were pulled out of a closet with mold. Not ideal in 97* weather. I literally checked out the next day. Asked for my $200 security back and she said she had to wait until the room was checked for any damage. I told everything was broke when I got the room. Waited until the manager came in and showed proof it went back to my bank. Worst place I've ever been in, not to mention when I got home I had to wash all my clothes because they smelled like mold and mothballs. I would definitely not recommend this place
