The 1-star Hotel America is located on the fourth floor of a residential building of Milan's Corso 22 Marzo, popular shopping and night-life street. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi and LCD TV. Milano Centrale Train Station is a 12-minute bus ride away on bus 92, which stops outside the America Hotel. Milan Linate Airport is a 7-minute drive away. Rooms at the America feature a private bathroom with hairdryer and toiletries. Some have air conditioning. A sweet breakfast is served daily in the small breakfast room. This is a basic/low cost hotel, but it's amazing value for money. It was cheaper that most other options I found and was very happy to stay here one night. Extremely easy to get to from the airport (direct bus that stops outside, or a metro line a little walk away), and very convenient for going into downtown on tram or bus.

Questo hotel offre un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Io e le mie amiche abbiamo dormito per una notte in una stanza da tre, con bagno esterno (anche se c'era un lavandino nella stanza). Era tutto veramente pulito, le lenzuola sapevano di fresco. Anche il bagno condiviso era estremamente pulito, tanto da lasciarmi sorpresa. Di mattina ci è stata offerta una colazione semplice, ma buona: frutta, merendine, acqua tè e caffè. E per di piu', la signora che ci ha accolte alla reception è stata dolcissima e molto premurosa. La posizione è ottima, con autobus e tram a 2 minuti a piedi e passante (Dateo) a 10 minuti a piedi. Ci torneremo senz'altro quando ci servirà un posto comodo, pulito e a prezzi onesti a Milano :)

It was comfortable and the room was spacious. The room and the bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. If was semi complicated to access, and felt a bit weird. The staff was rude, especially the lady in the reception. We were staying for 3 nights and on day three we were shooed out of our room so they could clean. It was done in a rushed and rude manner, rushing us out of the room and continuing to tell us we needed to get out and let them clean, even though we had already told her we understood and were on our way to collect our stuff (ie wallet, shoes etc) to go out.

The AC worked well in the room and the hotel's location was convenient to get to other locations in Milan. I didn't realize that the original hotel room we booked would have shared bathrooms and no A/C. This seems like it was something I just expected hotels to have as a basis. The hotel was on the 4th floor (5th floor by US measures), so it was fairly high up with a very small and slow elevator and a narrow staircase to get to the hotel.
