Aiello Hotels - Isola Design District

The location was great. It was in a quaint neighborhood with little shops. We ate at the local pizzeria and had breakfast at a place across the street. Also, the train station was 3 blocks away. It was brutally hot in Milan. I awoke sweating. The air conditioner just wasn't working well. I had to open the room door to get more airflow. Also, I booked this room via booking.com. The listing did not give any details about access nor size. This hotel is 4 rooms in an apartment within an apartment complex. The hotel sends an email the day before with access instructions. I didn't know to look for any email. I tried calling the hotel phone number but didn't get an answer. I got some help from the pizzeria down the block to get in the apartment complex. I called a second hotel phone to finally get in.

Please refill your bath soap and shampoo. It was empty in the room 127. Thanks.

The location is good, near to Gioia metro station Poor value for money. The room is extremely small but the price is extremely high. It is described as an hotel but in reality is falls under innkeeper, for this reason the municipality of Milan charges a higher tax of 9.5€ per person. Finally is has nothing to do with “Design”, as it is a very common apartment.

The apartment was clean and modern. Our unit was small but perfect for our needs and it was super quiet and the shutters closed for privacy. The staff was excellent. Not much to say but room was small for what we are accustomed to.

Great location with restaurants and transportation options, and good value. Helpful staff. No 24 hour receptionist. Unclear signage as to what part of the otherwise occupied apartment building you have your room in. No restaurant. Breakfast voucher is for a basic bar across the street.

Everything was good. The hotel is clean and at a good location. The only detail I didn’t like was the check-in process. There is no one to greet you after certain time, so you have to self-check in. As long as you’re aware of that (I wasn’t), you should be fine.

Fantastic location in Isola, with lots of restaurants, etc. Very clean rooms, nice touches like toiletteries, coffee, free bottled water. Nice shower The room is truly tiny. There is no way the room is anywhere near the advertised 161 sq ft. The width is two twin beds with tiniest of night stands each; the length is adding maybe 3 ft to the foot of the bed (and that's a generous estimate). The place is not a hotel, rather a refurbished city apartment. There is no reception. When there are small problems (e.g., wifi didn't work most of the time), you send a WhatsApp message and wait an hour for a response. Or when we ran out of toilet paper because there was only part of a roll, there was no one to ask.

Nothing Do not stay here. The photos of the room are misleading—while they make it look like a normal-sized space, the actual room is extremely small (less than 100 sq ft). The building appears to be a converted apartment with no proper lobby or common areas. The reception manager was unhelpful and is only present during limited hours, leaving in the afternoon and not returning until 11 a.m. We reached out for assistance in the evening, but our messages were completely ignored. The room itself was dusty and poorly cleaned. While the location may seem close to Milan’s central district on a map, it’s actually inconvenient and not ideal.

I liked that everything was trendy and new. It was very well kept. The staff was amazing! It should be noted that they aren’t there most of the time but if you need anything at all, they will accommodate. There are a couple little things and they are all design features. There is no room darkening curtain between the sheer and the window so the light will wake you up and there is nothing to dampen the noise from outside. Also, the spigot in the bathroom doesn’t flow into the basin when washing. It’s aesthetically pleasing but functionality is a miss.

The actual size of the room compare to the photos are day and night. We didn’t have hot water for 3night, just Luke warm.

Bathroom was nice The room was tiny, nothing like in the pictures. Also, they provided us with earplugs, which we should have realised was a red flag as we had the worst sleep ever, being awake from someone cleaning outside from 2am onwards
