Red Roof Inn & Suites Monterey

The room was exactly the same as on the website. Actually better than I anticipate. It was clean and well maintained. Parking was very good. The location was great. It was close to everything. The staff was very friendly especially the young lady who checked me in. I would definitely stay here again.

Buildings, rooms and grounds could be deemed inhabitable with zero exaggeration. Toilet did not flush, maintenance had gone home so we were advised to take the lid off and manually press to get it to flush. Floors, furniture, bedding and bath linens were grey and ratty (once white). Doors to rooms hit furniture so they could not be opened completely. Gutters on building were hanging, parking lot had several abandoned vehicles and trailers. If it weren’t the ONLY room left in Monterey for car week, we would have left. Would have rather slept in my car by the open dumpster and debris all over the parking lot.

The only issue I had during the stay was on the first night there were a young couple wandering the property and tried to follow me to my room and I had to let them know do not get anywhere near me so they left but continued to wander on property. Told the staff and he went look for them but without success and I did not see them return for the rest of my stay.

We stayed here for two nights. At first glance, the hotel looks quite old, and I think it would benefit from some renovation and updating. The lobby, hallways, and outside areas could also be improved to give the hotel a more modern and welcoming look. However, the room was comfortable, and the facilities inside were good. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. There was plenty of parking, which was very convenient. The hotel does not offer breakfast. Overall, we had a good stay, but the hotel would be much better with some renovation and a fresh new look. The hotel looks quite old and would benefit from renovation. The lobby, hallways, and outside areas need updating to give the hotel a more modern and welcoming look. There was also no breakfast available.

The hotel room was in disrepair

The suite/room was not clean and it had roaches. The staff did give us roach spray. We had to clean the floors before we took our shoes off. The hotel being old did not bother us, but the uncleaness did. Also, the towels were old and worn. The staff was very kind and the location was good.

The staff was pleasant and helpful, but nothing else positive about the place. There were many issues unfortunately. No drinking water available either in bottles or cooler. What does it cost to keep 2 water bottles in the room? Asked for a toothbrush, and shockingly they didn't have it.! Coffee machine was available in the room but only decaf! Really!!? The soap dispenser was hard to use. Shower didn't have a body soap, just shampoo and conditioner. Didn't feel like we stayed at a RED ROOF INN!!! Overall, absolute disappointment for the amount of money paid for this stay. Would never stay at another Red Roof, I am sorry to say.

First the AC was not working, the couldn’t switch my family rooms or even discount the room they offer a little fan instead, next there were ants everywhere the first morning we woke up, no pest control, they did clean the room but they were back by evening. Terrible, front desk guys were very nice but nobody was very helpful, with any actual solutions
