Staybridge Suites Charleston - Mount Pleasant by IHG

Tuesday night was a different experience. Around 9:30, we planned to let the kids swim for about 30 minutes to wind down—it’s vacation! The front desk representative told us we would have to leave promptly at 10:00 due to “liability.” I understand having rules, but it seemed inconsistent considering the pool opens at 6:00 a.m. and is posted as “swim at your own risk.” What concerned us more was a group of men who sat outside the hotel entrance all three nights, drinking, talking loudly, and sometimes interacting with guests as they walked by. They were allowed to remain there late into the evening, which felt uncomfortable and potentially unsafe, especially for women and children. We also had some cleanliness issues in our room, including hair in the bathtub, behind the bathroom door, and on the bathroom and kitchen counters. Rather than uproot our kids and change rooms, I cleaned the areas myself, and sanitized. The breakfast isn’t that great. Overall, we liked the property and appreciated the wonderful service we received our first two nights, but better consistency with policies, guest safety, and room cleanliness would greatly improve the experience.

We always stay at Staybridge when we visit Charleston because the staff is always pleasant and accommodating. The hotel itself is clean, organized, and perfectly located for what we like to do.

Our day was just perfect. There isn’t one thing that I would change about it.

It was impossible to sleep with the bedroom window right on Rt 17 highway—motorcycles raving, semis braking, etc all night. Not a restful stay.

This was an amazing stay for us. Unfortunately we only had one night here, as we were traveling into Florida and just needed a room for one night as a halfway point. We loved it so much that we wish we would have planned to stay longer! Staybridge is very dog friendly, and our room was large enough for our dachshund to run around and play. The balcony view of the Ravenel Bridge was gorgeous. Highly recommend this hotel! We will stay here again for sure when we are back in Charleston, perhaps on our way back home to Tennessee this coming weekend!

My family of four, including two teenagers, stayed in a two-bedroom suite for seven nights. The hotel was excellently maintained and so clean. Although pets are welcome at the hotel, it did not smell like animals and there wasn't fur everywhere. One of the managers told me that many people stay there who are getting various organ transplants at a local hospital, so they keep all their sanitation standards at the high level needed for people in such delicate health throughout the entire hotel. The staff was so friendly and kind. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and complimentary social hour that included appetizers and adult beverages. This hotel is about 15 minutes or less from most of Charleston's major attractions. The area is very safe; Mount Pleasant is very family friendly. My daughter and I had no concerns with our morning runs and there were scenic places to run. We will definitely stay here again.

Good breakfast and clean room/premises. Ample parking and good customer service.

Breakfast was good and a good choice of fruit, plus a good choice of breakfast foods. The coffee gave you a choice strong or weaker coffee. Parking was good. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday they offered you a free dinner.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were plenty of parking spaces. The hotel is in a good location. The breakfast was really good and offered a variety of food options.

Love the breakfast, such a great deal to have free breakfast every morning. Staff very friendly and helpful. Wish the bed was a little better. Too hard for me.

The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Que. She went beyond the normal to help us with a couple things. There was another lady there on other nights of our stay that was also very friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

One night, very loud and other nights like it was in a vacant room, but we could hear.

The front desk staff were so incredibly kind! The public areas were quiet and clean. The location is perfect for easy access to Downtown Charleston and Mt. Pleasant. There is easy access to plenty of parking. We’ve stayed at this location several times before and absolutely loved it. There is a reason we come back year after year. Unfortunately, this time was a bit of a let down. There was mud caked into the kitchenette area floor of our room when we checked in. The fire alarm went off repeatedly around 11:30 our first night. One of the side doors was not working during our entire stay. As we were loading up to head home, we watched a landscaper using a leaf blower in the parking lot. He blew debris and dust directly at people’s cars. We would’ve been really upset if that had been our vehicle since debris like that can damage the exterior of a vehicle. Overall, we just felt like the experience and quality were a bit disappointing compared to the many previous times we have stayed here.
