The hotel was in downtown Munich, which was very convenient as we traveled in the city a lot and visit a different places and it was very accessible. The staff are very friendly and welcoming as well. Firstly, we requested a quiet room which we did not get as the room was very loud and you could hear all the cars at night. Another big issue for us was that the AC was not working properly at night. The AC was only working for a few hours and it would turn off at night and it was very hot and uncomfortable for us and we had to wake up and turn it on again. Another thing was how small the rooms were and the fact that the bathroom and the shower shared the same door so you couldn’t use the bathroom and the shower at the same time. another thing is that we had to leave the hotel early in the morning and when we went downstairs the reception no one was there and we were locked in the hotel and we had to find a way out because we couldn’t miss our train to the next destination. I recommend telling the staff beforehand if you have to leave early in the morning because we didn’t know that they weren’t gonna be there and we didn’t mention so we were locked in. The room overall was clean however when we first got in the room, the toilet was not clean at all, and it was used right before us and not flushed. In conclusion, we paid a big amount for a very small room definitely not worth it and would not recommend if it’s as overpriced as it was when we booked it.

Great location. Good value. Bed bugs. Inattentive staff.

It was about a 10 minute cab ride to the train station, but also walkable. We arrived before check-in and they had a luggage room to store our luggage while we explored the city. Our room was on the first floor, but I did notice they had an elevator. Our room also had air conditioning and was crisp and cool compared to the outside temps at the end of June’s heatwave. Staff were friendly and helpful. We walked a lot, but cabs were also readily available and cost us about $10-15 to travel to the train station or the Hofbräuhaus. I would definitely book here again. The only thing that was a little odd was the door to the toilet was the same door you used as the shower door. There also wasn’t really anywhere to dress privately except the toilet closet.

They brought us a kettle upon request and it was a good location to explore the area.

The room configuration was a little odd with the shower snd bathroom sharing a door, but otherwise worked well for us and our 3 kids. Hotel Gio had a lovely breakfast array that we enjoyed during our stay and the staff was great. Big praise to David who was always so helpful and shared dining recommendations in Munich and noted places to visit during our day trip to Bertchesgaden. His hospitality was incredible! Location wasn't quite central to the old town square, but everything was walkable within 20-25 minutes.

Excellent location — close to the city center, public transport stops, and the train station. I was allowed to check in much earlier than the official check-in time, and wasn’t charged anything extra for it. The breakfast was outstanding and varied — it can easily rival many other hotels. The rooms are clean and cozy. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The room lacked a kettle, tea, coffee, and slippers. The rooms are a bit on the small side.

As a company that travels to Munich frequently, we truly appreciated how seamless everything was. Based on this experience, we’ll very likely make this our standard place to stay going forward. Highly recommended, and special thanks again to Tobi!

    The parking is a nightmare!!!

The worst experience I've ever had from a hotel. We were kicked out in the middle of our stay after one of the employees made a mistake with the booking and we found ourselves stranded in the middle of the day without a place to stay. The hotel's only solution was a room in their other hotel at double the price. They didn't even think to take it upon themselves and give us some kind of compensation. A truly shitty experience. I would think twice before booking a place there
