Homewood Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront

Upon entering our room, we discovered a cockroach. When I immediately reported this to the front desk, I was shocked to be told that they could not move us to another room. Instead, I was informed that they would send someone to spray the room and was even told that this solution had “worked before.” As a parent traveling with two small children, I find it completely unacceptable to be expected to remain in a hotel room while harsh pest-control chemicals are being sprayed. The health and safety of my children should not be compromised because of a pest infestation. A maintenance employee later arrived and removed the visible cockroach, which appeared to be coming from an air vent. However, removing one insect does not address the obvious concern: where did it come from, and how many others are hiding behind walls, vents, or other areas of the room? The fact that one was visible suggests a larger problem. We paid a premium price expecting the quality, cleanliness, and standards associated with the Hilton brand. Instead, we were left dealing with a pest issue, an inadequate response from hotel staff, and concerns about exposing our children to chemicals simply to make the room usable. Our stay at Homewood suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront was amazing. The staff was excellent, rooms were clean, and the food was great. Everything we needed was right there and our experience was very enjoyable.

This a great family destination. The indoor waterpark is wonderful after spending time on the beach.

The view was great access to the beach was easy and convenient , stores and restaurants were easy access also can’t wait to go back

I liked the location. The long wait once check in started and trying to get on that elevator.

The rooms should be cleaned every other day during stays at the hotel. Or at least leave extra trash bags and some type of sweeper for the floor. Also there should be enough towels and wash cloths in the rooms to accommodate the number of guest in the room.

This was our second time here and thank goodness because they tried to put us in a room half the size of what we paid for (without the kitchenette we planned on utilizing). The desk staff (a manager, no less) was not kind in helping us resolve this and blamed Expedia, telling us to call them “to have them fix it” (?!), and also that they were out of suites. We stood our ground and - what do you know! - they “found” an available suite for us… like we’d paid for. Checkout was equally horrible. We had a 40 minute wait to get an elevator from the 16th floor. They also deactivated our room key before checking out and before it was even checkout time, making the whole process unbelievable stressful. The hotel doesn’t have the elevator capacity to accommodate everyone checking out at 11:00 and need to figure out a staggered system. The time in between checking in and out was enjoyable. Great beach access, we love the pool and hot tubs, and the included breakfast is consistently pretty good. If you can get a suite (good luck), it was comfortable for our family of 6, which is saying something. My family ultimately had a great time, but for the big hassles we had, I’m uncertain we would stay here again.

My family enjoyed everything about their stay at the Hotel. Especially the room, view and handicap/wheelchair accommodations.🤗

The Location is direct on the beach, and very close to the boardwalk. Many restaurants were within walking distance. There is a lot of entertainment for all ages. After four days we had the first cleaning in our room, after complaining about it. the first 3 days I had to get to the reception to get fresh towels. The bathroom door was very dirty and sticky. The tables in the breakfast area were not cleaned between guests. The furniture is pretty worn out
