    My family and I were really impressed with our stay. I looked for hours online reading reviews and the Shelby had some of the best so I took the chance and am so glad I did! We will definitely be going back and staying there again!

    The staff was nice. The little cafe was nice to have as a breakfast option and we enjoyed the pool and tiki bar. The room was basic but very clean and check in was easy. We did not love the parking situation which was cramped and inconvenient. I am 7 months pregnant and my husband was constantly having to drop me off and go park the car in a garage two blocks away. Overall, we would probably have liked a place with more amenities and attention to detail for the guests, but there was nothing inherently wrong with this hotel.

    Just a heads up they only have one elevator it was a little slow moving but overall it worked and we didn’t have any type of problem with it and enjoy our stay. We will definitely be staying again in the near future.

    The restaurant was nice and so was staff. Jamie was super sweet. Food was tasty and well priced. The hotel stay was smooth and uneventful in the best way. Right on beach and steps away from the boardwalk and many restaurants. I celebrated my 30th bday at The Voco Shelby for 2 nights three days but I could’ve used an extra day!

    Pros: - friendly staff who are attentive and helpful - beautifully designed and furnished rooms - decor, design elements and overall vibe was great - pool (with poolside bar) and restaurant on site - live music poolside is great - right on the beach and centrally located on the main strip - free parking with plenty of spots - free cruiser bike rentals is a nice touch - shoutout to Michael at front desk who is such a lovely man who goes beyond for guests Cons: - only one elevator for the entire hotel, including staff (ie. no separate service elevator). This made elevator trips slow and cumbersome. - the pool is too small for the size of the hotel (ie. 3 buildings, ~300 rooms) - the WiFi absolutely sucks. This should be an easy fix. - poolside bar drinks are too expensive - using a “free” Spotify account to run poolside music (and often terrible playlists) - not enough umbrellas and lounging seats Myrtle Beach is known as a family-friendly beach town. However, this resort is screaming to be an adults-only destination for those that aren’t traveling with kids. The pool is too small to support dozens of kids screaming and splashing around, the overall vibe appeals to adults, there’s no practical way to add amenities for kids so the pool is all that it has for kids entertainment, etc. Make this resort adults-only—missed opportunity!

    The Housekeeping Director was a beautiful spirit along with the 3 men from front desk area. 6/20-25. I moved rooms while on property and during my haste, my ipad was left in the room. I returned to the front desk where Nicola said that she would take my information to follow up with the housekeeping manager because nothing had been turned into lost and found. Around 9am the following morning Nicola not only seemed confused as to why I was back, but was very dismissive and told me again, nothing was found in the room and its too early to call the guest’s room. I asked if I would need to solicit the help of the police and she said you can do as you will, tried calling another manager whiles saying aloud that “this is above my pay grade”. This was very frustrating to me. It was if she wanted me to accept a loss, she even asked if I was sure I left it in the room, even after showing her the location of the device in the North building. Police came and mysteriously 2 housemen and a housekeeper walked out the north building with my ipad in hand. Imagine my surprise after being told by Nicola that she reached out to housekeeping. I’ve served as a manager in several hotel properties, & can say that several procedures were ignored. Rooms were clean, great location. Had I not encountered Nicola my rating would be 5 stars. Everyone else was pleasant.

    Fine stay for the price. They’ve done a nice job modernizing an old property. Parking can be a challenge. Being on the main strip, there’s myriad options for mediocre food and beach trinkets. I didn’t use the pool but it looked modest for pool lovers. The beach outside the hotel was nice.

    The beach view was excellent. The room was clean; however, the sheets were slightly stained. New sheets were provided with the caveat I replace the sheets myself. I have never had to change the sheets at a hotel. This should have been done when they refreshed my room. Overall the visit was mid. They staff at the front of the house was helpful. Cannot say the same for housekeeping.

    Was over charged $2200 from the amount shown on Expedia. My reservation was not held by this hotel. The offered me another accommodation for free and then charged me for it. My total stay was supposed to be $1746. My card has now been ran for $3927. David is the only manager that can push through refunds. I have called 5 times and spoke with Michael, Rachel (2), Sarah, and another name I cannot remember. I would have recommended this spot to stay and that has completely changed. All I want is the refund of $2154 that I am owed. Another message was once again left for David. Hope to hear back soon.

    We stayed June 14 through June 21. I asked for our room to be cleaned four days after I stay I was told they don’t do a complete cleaning till after five days. I asked on the fifth day housekeeping came in. They did an awful job on our room. All they did was give us two new sheets. They left the comforter on the bed the original comforter that had blood stains on it they never swept the floor. They never swept the balcony. There was seafood shells from our dinner the night before on the balcony, and they never cleaned it. Very poor housekeeping on a good note. The pool was nice and clean and it was cleaned every day with the exception of Sunday, many people were turned off as we watched them come to the pool side to find the cushions for the chairs and lounges were very stained and dirty. They had to put down clean towels to lay on Them. That was a big turn off for us and I’m sure many other of your guest I would suggest either getting rid of the cushions and going to a different type of lounger or change out and clean your cushions.

    Everything was exactly as described. We only had one complaint about the property - it only has one elevator and it’s super busy, therefore SUPER SLOW - and nobody really wants to climb up and down 8 flights of stairs constantly to go back and forth to the room. Other than that, the place is great for location, etc and we’d stay again!

    The shower head in our room was too strong and it would hurt to shower. They only stocked up our room with 2 towels despite saying it would be us and the children staying there.
