The hotel is it's a great stay! It is aesthetically gorgeous and Tennessee eclectic. The converted church is in a cute neighborhood full of lovely craftsman homes and it's location makes everything really walkable, or if you prefer, there is a parking lot across the street. Keeping with the concept of Tennessee ecleinctic, there is no front desk or concierge on site. The staff is easily and quickly accessible by email or text and the hotel itself They checked in multiple times to make sure that our stay was to expectation, and I was happy to report to them that our room and the common areas well maintained and managed. We'll definitely stay here again when in town!

Beautifully restored building with very cool architectural features. The rooms were very comfortable and super quiet. Located in the historic Edgefield neighborhood with well preserved homes from the late 1800s, a nice place for a morning walk. The common lounge areas were stylish and we enjoyed the coffee bar with hot water for tea. Parking is convenient and Ubers were plentiful $10 to Broadway.

Like the charity work for the homeless.

Everything about this stay was great! Free parking is a huge bonus in Nashville and I love that a portion of your room cost is donated to charities that help the homeless in the area. The decor was amazing and the shower was huge. I highly recommend for a unique and more affordable stay near downtown Nashville.

Quiet, immaculate, amazing repurposing of the old church elements and the stained glass windows are gorgeous. I nerded out on the design of the common areas. If you want to get away from the noise and crowds for your accommodations, this is the place.

Meh, pretty run down building with shoddy paint job. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was gorgeous and very clean. Everything was very well maintained. Finding a nice hotel with free parking (not valet) was sooo hard, but this place was IT. No staff on site, but they were incredibly kind via messaging. The whole hotel is beautiful and well worth it, plus the soap and robes were GREAT. My hair feels and smells amazing.

Great place to stay in Nashville, Unusual - but great experience in a hotel. Location was convenient to downtown honkytonks. Parking downtown is expensive - we found it convenient to park the car (for free) at the Russell and Uber back and forth.

Excellent hotel. Would highly recommend staying here for any trip to Nashville. Really nice property and very helpful support staff for the booking and the stay. I have a house in Nashville and will recommend this to all my friends and family when they visit.

Beautiful, peaceful hotel. Always look forward to staying here when visiting Nashville. By far my favorite hotel anywhere!

It was very close to the concert venue, so it was just a 4 minute walk. There was a Dyson hair dryer in the room. Loved it!! It was so quiet, you could hear every little step from the people in the room above us.

The Russell is a cute and unique hotel. I love the stained glass windows, they really stand out. Management was so communicative and welcoming, and made sure the check-in and checkout processes were super simple. The room had everything we needed and I loved the smart tv so I could stream my movies. I would definitely stay there again and have recommended this hotel to my friends!

Rooms are lovely and the parking is free and really convenient, we only stayed one night on our trip but would have loved to stay more.

I was notified my original room had an issue with my A/C the day of my reservation. The staff were very helpful and made sure the replacement rooms accommodated my needs. Such a cute building, I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Unique, comfortable, easy to get to, beautiful neighborhood, like their rooms for rooms business model. Be prepared to manage stairs.
-
This is a beautifully converted historic church in a lovely very old neighborhood in East Nashville. The staff were very helpful. The rooms are lovely. Everything was quite nice.

Ugh…. Great concept poorly executed.

Bonus! We help others while staying there. Besides the visual intrigue when booking, this is what hooked me. It's a cool mission and a great opportunity to help make a difference in a wonderful community. It's the first place I've visited that does that and now something I'm looking forward to doing on other trips.

I loved this location! It is so unique and beautiful! I look forward to staying again!

The Russell was an awesome stay. It's a very modern way of lodging - everything is text and code driven. There isn't a reception desk or bell-hop, which I found refreshing. The place is beautiful with the old church decor like stained glass and exposed rafters but with really modern rooms with every amenity you need. I found the staff (via text) to be super receptive and helpful - I had a slight issue out of the control of anyone and they handled it perfectly. I would definitely stay there again!
