The Heldrich Hotel

The most disappointing part was the staff at the front desk. They were not particularly helpful, nor were they empathetic at all. When questions were posed to them they simply said they did not know taking no initiative to help at all because they clearly did not care. Also the parking situation was in a public lot and they didn’t even validate. Overall, meh.

I'm really surprised this is a 4 star hotel honestly. We were told at valet that they validate parking, different story at check-in. We asked for glasses for the room. They never arrived. The TV looked like it was from the early 2000s (how do they not have smart TVs in 2026 at a 4 star hotel?) and you have to pay for basically anything you want to watch. The elevator sounds like a mineshaft. For $200 a night for a 4-star hotel, I expected a lot more. The room was clean and not bad at all and the bed was very comfy though.

Location good. Property could use some TLC and a renovation is due. No gift shop to pick up incidentals or any room service. Since a quick trip, not an issue, but something to note. Price and location was driver here.

The hotel had a lot of drug addicts outside of the property. The hotel room doors had paint peeling off, bathroom was far from stellar. The room was far from 4 star quality. I would never stay there again.

The room is old. The gym is very small with a lack of machines, the receptionist talk to the phone and doesn't answer to the questions during night.

Overall it was ok. Lobby beautiful and staff great. Drapes were in disrepair. Bathroom had no fan. Only 2 pillows for queen bed. It was just ok. Location excellent. Staff amazing

Right in the middle of nice restaurants and very convenient

The property’s only value is its location. The rooms are dated and in need of updating. It’s a nice looking building in an excellent location - right across the street from two performing arts venues and in the midst of Rutgers University. The lobby looks fine and so does the restaurant. But the rooms look like a budget motel. We only stayed there for convenience - we were attending an event at the hotel and the theater across the street. There was a wedding and a gala there Saturday evening, so that must have been too much for the kitchen staff to handle and they told us when we checked in that breakfast would not be available in the morning.

Excelente buenas atenciones

Room was okay and staff was helpful.

My husband and I had to change our room after checking in. It was not cleaned from the prior guest. The valet service was very organized and courteous.
