Owner was great.. shower was good and clean... location was very good. Water and tea/coffee available Airco made a lot of noise. Bds were way to soft.. were 2 matrasses stacked.. breakfast questionable

We loved staying at the Way Young House! Kevin was an amazing host! He did everything from helping us park and carrying our huge bags, to showing us the best (and cheapest) spots to explore around the beautiful town. He even showed us around one of the temples and explained Taiwanese and Chinese traditional religious practices to us in great detail. He personally delivered our breakfast to our room, and made a point to check if we needed anything on multiple occasions. The view from our room was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet mountainside, but still very close to the main streets in town, and stores with everything you might need (less than 5 minute walk!) We would love to stay at the Way Young House if we ever find ourselves in Taiwan again!

Location Far too expensive for a dirty place. The breakfast (sandwich) was absolutely not acceptable. Stay away from making a reservation.

You could use the AC to warm the room and there was hot water in the bathroom. The sheets and towels were clean, the room was also pretty clean. We had the option to not receive breakfast against a discount. There was water and tee free of charge. The host was very helpful and friendly. Nice views of the harbor from the room. When you got out of the room, starting with the floor was the facility dirty and not orderly and looked like it was still being built.

Great view of the mountain & Sea, location is near to the Jiufen Old Street which has a lot of food options Location is abit off the main road, but is reachable from bus stop within a 5 mins walk

The location is great because it's just outside of the busy streets. Also, if you like hiking, near the place there are some stairs that lead to a great hiking path. Also, those same stairs lead to a bus stop that takes you back to Taipei faster than Google Maps suggested. How did I know this? The staff member, Kevin, was extremely informative and told us all of this. Extremely helpful and I'm staying there in a heartbeat when I go back. Also, I'm a picky eater and the breakfast was delicious and the view from our window was breathtaking! I only stayed there one night. I should have stayed there more days.

I travel to Jiufen with my husband. We like the room with the view outside since it makes our mood better. The place is small but with everything you need. And it’s a place for the cat lover:) The owner is kind and friendly. He explained everything in detail and recommended us with good spots and restaurants. Moreover, It’s winter time and hot water is hot enough. We also have both AC and heater inside our room. Excellent! This location is not far from the Jiufen old street. I recommend this place to people who wants a cozy place to stay:) The bed frame is too soft to support our weight lol

Kevin was very knowledgeable and forthright regarding the area, making excellent recommendations and providing helpful tips for our stay. The view from the room and attached balcony was picturesque, the facilities were clean, the location was very convenient. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

The bugs in the room, size of the room, dirty corridor and hotel area, cold breakfast (hamburger delivered in from of the door)

1) Very quiet although near main road (2) very walkable to nearby trail, shops and eateries (3) very strong water pressure for shower (4) overall quite comfortable room. 1) Bed too short for anyone taller than 1.70m (2) mattress doesn't provide enough support (3) platform not meant for anyone taller than 1.75m (4) too many insects in room although everything's fully-enclosed, got big spiders, mosquitoes, small flies and 2 centipedes (5) breakfasts insufficient (6) not recommended for anyone with 20kg big suitcase, the 1st flight of stone steps can be slippery when wet, the black steel staircase leading up to 2nd floor can be dangerous when wet and challenging for anyone with big shoes cos steps very narrow (7) the road leading out to main road is full of unsightly smelly dogs and cats poo, watch where you step.

We had a friendly and professional welcome from the owner, he helped us with the luggage and car parking and gave us very good information and advice to continue our trip across Taiwan. Home stay very close to the main street. The room was confotablr. None

We loved the view from our window and the peaceful location. The stairs were not at all bad and the bonus was it’s convenient proximity to the Mount Keeling trailhead! Additionally, the host was great. He oriented us quickly (in English) and brought us tasty breakfast in the morning ? we would love to stay here again.

Kevin is a very helpful Host. He arranged for my transport from airport to Way Young & also transport to Shifen n Keelung Nite Market. He’s a very friendly host always providing info on the places to go.
