Sunshine B&B

The room was very comfortable and spacious in terms of normal room size in Taiwan. Beautiful view over the sea and mountains . The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast very enjoyable and on one evening after we returned from town the owners prepared two types of mango for us . The B and B is in a great position - right next to bus stops . Whilst there we did the Mount Keelung trail, Teapot Mountain, a walk to the sea from the town and the Gold Museum . All really enjoyable . Also you can do snorkelling at Bitou Harbour - we came across by chance. There are too some fabulous eating places in the old town. I would have had a kettle in the room . There was a water machine on floor 1 and 4 but the hot water did not reach boiling point so it limited the drinks you could have.

Our room was comfortable with a fantastic view. The location is close to old street and accessible by car, which is not always the case in Jiufen. Breakfast was good with an array of items. Also, the innkeeper was very nice and accommodating. She brought us umbrellas when it started to rain and let us store our luggage until our afternoon train. The only thing to keep in mind is that you cannot wear your shoes in the B&B. They provide slippers.

The location is perfect, just a few steps from the bus stop (bus 965 from Taipei) and very near the pedestrian only lantern-festooned lanes. The view from our room was outstanding. The set breakfast was also good. The only issue was the policy of leaving your shoes at the door and using the flip flops they provided which I found quite difficult on the stairs. But this was not a big deal.

Location and staff

Location , it’s very close to the main attractions and view points yet very easily accessible with luggage without all the walking through streets where cars can’t come. So ideal hotel if you have luggage . Staff was very friendly and accommodating for our 18 month old . Rooms were very spacious as well !

Clean and spacious Lightning is a bit insufficient

We loved everything about this B&B! The location was just amazing- only a couple of minutes from the old street and we felt very safe and comfortable coming back after 9pm. The door was a bit old. It locked fine but I felt more comfortable if the door frame wasn’t so loose. Safety issue.

Breakfast was delicious and beautifully and carefully put together. The room was beautifully decorated and was comfortable. It truly felt like vacation. The location was easy to spot and around the corned from the bus stop and only minutes away from the main attraction. The owners and staff were so welcoming, warm, and just over-all amazing. N/A

Excellent place with fantastic view of Jiufen. Love seeing the sunrise from our room and balcony. Short walk to Jiufen Old Street, temples, and bus stop. Family Mart almost next door if needed. Very kind and helpful staff. Huge room with comfortable, king-sized beds and modern bathroom. Good breakfast. Definitely choose this hotel again the next time we visit Jiufen!

Well located and very clean It does not have lift and we were in the 3rd floor. Breakfast is ok but not generous.

The location close to the temple and at the onset of the old street is perfect - Loved the free parking next door. Our rooms were huge with two double beds and a seating area as well as a dining area. The bathroom was pristine - excellent pressure and finishes. The comfort level of the bedding and mattress allowed for a wonderful evening of rest. The breakfast was beautifull presented and tasty and I loved the excellent assortment of teas in the foyer for use by the guests The hotel has lovely views and it would be helpful if the listing could specify if the room has a street view or water view - one of the reasons for choosing this hotel was its views - which sadly neither of our deluxe rooms offered any views other than onto the the road leading up to Juifen. With paying premium we were under the impression that we would be receiving a room with a view. Knowing in advance if you are booking a room with a view or facing the street would be appreciated.
