Air con not working that well

They have nice view Dirty Slowest wifi I've ever experienced A/C is not working all the time, they put it on only late at night, and turn it off early in the morning, before you wake up, so you just wake up from the heat ? You have to go tons of stairs to get there, so don't come with big luggage

Good location

Very helpful and kind owners. Beds and bathroom are also super nice. Great location. There is nothing you could complain about.

Great location, rooftop. Nice showers. Clean. Comfortable beds. Very very nice staff/owners. Beautiful views. Exceptional lighting. Nothing. Well worth the money.

You can't beat the location. Pay attention to the numbering on the main street to find it. The view from the roof was unbeatable and the main gathering area fostered talking with other guests. The price for being right on the old street was amazing. Clean and safe. It would be nice to have individual lockers to hold luggage, though in the pile of everyone's luggage mine felt safe.

The location is great and the instructions given by the owner to find the place were easy to follow. Good shower pressure and beautiful view. The mattress was much too hard for me. If you sleep on your side and are not accustomed to this type of mattress, then you may not find very comfortable. The room was also too hot but somebody figured out how to change the AC from the preset timer/temperature. I also found it a bit overwhelming to receive instructions over the phone in the evening. I did not want to bother others when I arrived in the evening. Written instructions with pictures would be great.

I love vintage streets and a huge Ghibli fan so Jiufen was a must stop in Taiwan for me. I decided to stay 2-nights at Jiu Wow Box Inn and so glad I added this charming hostel. After getting lost finding the entrance lol… I took a deep breath and found it down narrow steps just off the famous Old Street of Jiufen. Amy was there to greet ma and she is superwoman the way she runs the place. Cleaning, keeping it secure, and just a nice vibe about her. My bed was on the top floor and fortunately my roommates were quiet and respectful. The rooms are modern and toilets on my floor always clean. The views of the countryside stunning and I really felt away from it all - in a very good way! - Eric The showers are old, but hey you’re in the historic part of town. The water pressure incredibly strong tho. Too bad it was raining non-stop on my visit, yet I managed to get some really cool photos because of this… hey no complaints! Not a perfect place, but one-of-a-kind!

Not much floor space in the dorm rooms, no sound proofing so kept up by people in communal space (and snorers) and beds a bit too hard

Staff were very nice Loved the view on the patio. Incredible Hot showers Location was great Mattress a bit hard Everything else was great

The original bed that I was assigned to had been used and was dirty. I had to call the owner, as he wasn’t responding to text messages, who told me that it was the wrong bed (even though it was the bed he had told me was mine), before I was given a new bed, which seemed to be clean. There is also no secure storage area for your baggage, so if you plan to check in early, you have to leave it in the common area unsupervised. Showers were okay (the first shower seems to only have cold water but the rest were fine), soap and shampoo were provided, but there was no hand soap by the sinks.

Splendid view, perfect location. Flexible staff, cozy interior. Great facilities such a showers and water dispensers and tea. The double-bed option is a unique and concept. No lockers. The emergency sign was too bright, making the lighting in the room uncomfortable.

Clean, cozy, and friendly

The breakfast is not provided, but the location is very good. You have a lot of options on eating. The view is perfect. I like the top roof and the common area downstair. The owners are very nice. They provided many details, such as the phone holder for selfie. There is dryer at the basement.

one of the staff picked me up so kind common rom very small and check in desk in the common room mattress not so comfy too much rain could not see the patio and view hope next time

Really liked this place. No staff working most of the time but they were always available over the phone if anything was needed. The bed was comfortable, it was clean, the location was incredible! Love it! They didn't accept credit card. It was a little hard to get cash to pay for the bed but they were very helpful about me paying a little late.

A funky and cool multistory hostel that puts you right in main streets of Jiufen. The rooftop is a chill place to observe the city. Usual curtains for the beds. The shower water pressure is truly something to experience. There is no AC control within the room and it was turned off the night I stayed and very stuffy. I didn't figure out the AC control was on the main floor until the morning. The streets of Jiufen can be insanely busy and you'll deal with this entering in and out of the hostel during the day. The bathroom is on the lower floor below the common floor and rooms are upstairs so a slight trek of stairs via the common area to access - not a big deal for a hostel.

My very first time doing this and i felt safe. ?

the beds were very private staff was cleaning the bathroom in our dorm at midnight, all the lights on and not being quiet. So weird. Not the most convenient location, nor is it particularly comfortable. The kitchen hangout area is a tiny room upstairs, not really inviting at all. Soooo expensive for what you get.
