old toilet it needs hardware update and i was surprised to be charged $40 for room amenities that are standard like two tiny bottles of water ! I know it’s New York but i’m a frequent visitor and they was a first !!!

Staff was so friendly and helpful. Holding our luggage in the morning while at a Doctors appointment was really big perk. The restaurant was amazing Indian food and a local dinner was perfect for breakfast. Will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed staying at the San Carlos. The staff was amazing, they were very nice and helpful. When we arrived there, we were only booked for 3 nights but travelocity.com had us reserved for 4 nights. The check-in person worked it out and upgraded our room where we had 2 rooms and it was fantastic. The hotel and room were very clean.

The location was perfect for us. Just far enough away from the craziness of Times Square but also close enough to walk there quickly and get to the subway easily. The NY Luncheonette across the street and Ess a bagel around the corner were both awesome. I would avoid Empire Steak House next time though (also across the street). We went just for burgers in the bar and they were so overpriced and not great. The I would definitely stay at San Carlos again.
