The food was great and well priced. The rooms were comfortable. The old building was interesting and the renovations done well. There was a small community book library. Right across from the light train station

Always enjoy staying here, so close to everything and nice to be able to wander downstairs for some atmosphere, beers & delicious food. Cool that they let you take a beer up to your room, my partner loved that. Would have liked to have been told at the time of booking that they were open for World Cup. Have actually stayed in about 6 different rooms there previously. This room was SO stuffy that it was uncomfortable, have never encountered that before.

The Lucky is a great place to stay when traveling for work. Very comfy rooms, small but with everything you need for a good night sleep and a bit of tv watching. Staff at the bar are very friendly and helpful - extra blanket? Cutlery, crockery? Sure, I'll bring it up to your room. Love it! Nothing.

We have stayed here twice before & will definitely stay again. The hotel is easily reached by the light rail from Newcastle Interchange, which stops right outside the hotel & it is centrally located near the Civic Theatre , cafes & the beaches, art gallery & so many other places. The food at the hotel is great & the weekday specials are such good value . The staff could not be more helpful. hey are all young & so polite.
