Hotel Beau Rivage

The hotel has perfect location very near to the sea and all shops and restorants, I would say it has the best location in Nice. The room was too small and bathroom was a little bit old.

The location was great. Walking distance to the beach and the heart of town. We booked what was advertised as a Superior Room with City View. Unfortunately, that was not what we received. I’ve attached a photo of the actual view from our room so future guests can judge for themselves. It overlooked an interior courtyard, not the city. When I brought this up at reception, I was told that this was the room I had booked and that if I wanted a superior room, I would need to pay an additional fee. After submitting a complaint through Booking.com, the hotel responded by stating that I had indeed been given a superior room, despite the obvious discrepancy between the advertised “city view” and the room we received. That was disappointing. Service was inconsistent. The woman who checked us in was genuinely warm and welcoming, and the older gentleman who spoke Italian was also very kind. Unfortunately, the rest of our interactions with the staff ranged from indifferent to borderline rude. The hotel has a beautiful beach lounge where umbrellas and sunbeds can be rented for €60 per day. On our final morning, before our noon checkout, we politely asked if we could use two empty beach chairs for less than an hour. Even though the lounge was not busy, our request was declined without any flexibility. We travel frequently and rarely leave negative reviews, but between the misleading room description, the handling of our complaint, and the lack of customer-focused service, this was not the experience we expected. We won’t be returning.

Great location and friendly staff. The hotel seemed very humid, and it seemed to have a musty smell as a result on the first floor where we stayed. This could be because close proximity to the beach. We were there during a heat wave and though the room appeared to have central air conditioning, it could not keep up with the humidity. Also, 5 day cancellation policy wasn’t ideal.

A/C wasn’t adjustable & so night was very warm. No top sheet just doona. Bedlinen polyester - hot for summer. Room dark. Guests pay for beach club.

We have a wonderful time. Everyone was so helpful and the hotel was perfect- from the room, to the meals, and location. Love everything about it. Wished we could have stayed longer.

Not very clean, for example the trim and shower was moldy. The rooms were too hot even with AC. We paid for several rooms, and paid the city tax ahead of time but at check out our friends double paid. Now we have to deal with waiting for refunds. Additionally they wanted to charge a complete stay for a room that was already paid for. It was very disorganized, and lacked communication.

The room was tiny. Half the size as advertised on their website. I measured. It was basically the bed and about 2 ft around it.

Internet quality

Most of staff were nice. Loved the restaurant on the private beach. Good food, relaxing. Very weak air conditioning and front desk refused to look into it telling me on the phone that "ac is working fine... Americans love their rooms freezing." I couldn't believe my ears. And this, after we just spent three weeks traveling throughout Morocco, the French Riviera, Cinque Terre, Ligurian coast and had no issues with AC in any of our stays. The only issue was in the Beau Rivage on our last night of an otherwise fantastic vacation. We wanted our last night special and paid almost $400 for a very muggy and hot room where I put a portable fan next to my bed and at 3:30 am it woke me because it was blowing hot air into my face. I had to open the windows for 20 minutes to clear out the stuffiness. Couldn't sleep with open windows because of loud traffic noise. It's a real shame because other than the broken ac, and lack of management to even attempt to look into the issue, it was a nice place.

Location Initially we were given rooms in two opposite wings, even though we had requested to have our 2 rooms close by, since we were traveling as a family. The shower in one of the rooms did not work and only after that we were moved to another room close by to the other one occupied by our family. I am disappointed that the front desk staff initially lied to us when they told us no two rooms close by were available, when there clearly were such available rooms. Housekeeping did not clean the shower properly and there was hair left in it on the next day.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth and exceptional service! The breakfast was delicious with a wonderful assortment of bread , cheeses and pastries as well as hot foods! absolutely nothing to complain about!
