The staff were amazing at mawimbi bungalows. It was my friends birthday and they went all out to make her day so special ❤️ we would recommend mawimbi bungalows to anyone staying in Nungwi! No air conditioning but property has a fan.

The stay in Mawimbi was amazing. We had everything what we needed at the property. The room was cleaned every day, the breakfast was great and overall the atmosphere was amazing. Close to the beach and near by to the local shops. Host Carla greeted us when we arrived and was always avaiable. We felt like at home. Thank you very much for having us!

I strongly recomend mavimbi bungalows hotel. It was so cozy and it felt like home. Carla and the staff made sure that we where comfortable. They where also so welcoming and helpful with everything. I will probably stay at the same hotel if I ever go back to zanzibar. Nothing, everything was perfect.

Great quiet location with wonderful garden close to busy Nungwi beach. Host Carla is lovely and does have several tips what to do in Nungwi and even organizes it for her guests. Staff super nice. Driver available on site. Will go again.

Nice pool , nice room , great decoration in the rooms. Beautiful place around , good nature and garden . The bathroom is not really nice , sometimes there is no water to bath or even brush teeth . Electricity is on and off . WiFi is weak in the rooms . Breakfast is as good as just bread , but they say breakfast included .

Carla and her team are amazing hosts. The location is nice and quiet in a secluded street walking distance to the beach. Beautiful garden. Tasty filling breakfast. The bungalows are very private Love it all

My friend and I had a delightful 3-night stay at Mawimbi Bungalows. From the moment we arrived, Carla, the owner, made us feel incredibly welcome—a perfect introduction to the charm of Zanzibar. The property itself was a lush, green oasis, providing a cool and cosy atmosphere. Our bungalow was spotless, with comfortable beds and a shower that provided hot water, ensuring a comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious, and the friendly, attentive staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The location was ideal, with the beach just a 5-minute walk away. It felt safe and secure for us as two women to explore, adding to the overall sense of relaxation and enjoyment. I highly recommend Mawimbi Bungalows for anyone looking for a serene, welcoming, and conveniently located place to stay in Zanzibar. The internet was weak and the power went out quite a bit

Good location and quiet spot with a relaxing swimming pool, most of the time you will be alone there. All the staff is really nice and helpfull, Poor breakfast. You can order maximum 2 eggs per person. If you want more, you have to pay! One of the waitress was really confused and didnt understand, then he was all the time on phone instead of asking hosts if they need someting, or check if there is anything missing out on the table.

Loved the place. It's clean, well-maintaines and the staff are so friendly. Our host was also very kind, warm and welcoming. She ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. The pool was clean and lovely and we liked the floating breakfast too. That our stay was so short! We would have loved to stay longer.

The location, walking distance to the beach The property - well maintained and beautiful It was noisy! The dining area is located in the center, and the bungalows are around it. Therefore you always hear other guests whether they are dining there or having conversations. There is also construction taking place right across the street. They are nowhere near finished. They start drilling around 7:45-8 am. The only reprieve is if there is a power outage. Additionally you hear large flocks of bird around 5:15 am and they won’t stop until sunrise. There is a restaurant nearby that also has live music that you can hear at night. The bungalows do not have glass windows, and all the windows remain open, therefore you hear everything. I do not recommend this property at all if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet retreat. I notified Carla several HOURS after my arrival that I was unable to take a nap, since I heard techno music around 3-5 pm. It sounded like it was coming from the property. I had a cold, and a migraine and I asked if she could waive the cancelation fee of $150 so I could find a quieter property the following morning. She refused and said it was “impossible” although according to booking she could do so. In my opinion, she only cared about $$$, not my feelings. I do not recommend staying here at all. It felt as though she had little regard for my concerns, and said everyone there was on holiday, therefore they could make noise anytime except for 11 pm - 7 am. The breakfast is mediocre, a bit cold, presentation average. I would have left on the 2nd day, but unfortunately my phone shut down and would not turn on. I traveled solo and it was my only means of communicating with my family in the states. I asked if I could make a call using a toll free number and she said it was impossible. She said maybe I can use her what’s app to her credit. This was the 2nd time in 24 hours that she mentioned the word “impossible” to me and it rubbed me the wrong way. That type of mentality sets people back.

Great Hotel with nice little Bungalows, very clean, comfortable bed with Mosquito net and modern bathroom. The garden and plants are very groomed and the pool area is great for relaxing. Breakfast is delicious and in addition to the menue they offer every day (toast, cake…) they offer different additions (fruits, omelet, crepe …) that varies from day to day. The owner is very nice and helpful. It’s only 5 min. walking distance from the ocean. We felt very comfortable and safe.Incan highly recommend Mawimbi.
