The hotel is very clean and cozy. The staff is super kind and nice, the rooms are spacious, well equipped, and very clean. The pool is great, right water temperature, clean and there are even pools for people without kids. What we loved the most was the restaurant. The breakfast had good variety of foods, but the menu for lunch and dinner was extraordinary. Great mix of local and international food. It is the best food we had in entire Zanzibar. Highly recommend. The tours that were booked via hotel were not the best. I would recommend trying some other agencies. And there is no direct way to the beaches, even tough you can see the ocean from the hotel.

I thought I paid for my stay with a credit card but they only charge the first night... and when you get to the front desk they charge for the remaining nights but there is an additional 5% credit card fee.

It’s a pretty establishment overall. Nice architecture on the outside. 8.5/10 Breakfast was decent 7/10 Service 2/10 The front desk man was very rude and didn’t give af. I couldn’t tell whether he didn’t want to be there or if he was tired. But this was his energy throughout our stay. We had an issue with our AC (it was not working the whole trip. It would turn on but not blow any air). Even after explaining to him that we had tried different measures to rectify the situation on our own, he insisted that the air wasn’t working because we kept our doors open in the night thus why the cold air couldn’t circulate in the room (imagine!! He said this 2x with no evidence on 2 different days of the same complaint). I was patient. He insisted maintenance had checked the AC and it was working when I followed up. I asked for maintenance to revisit the room and check the AC again even he insisted that I keep the AC on for about an hour to prove a point that maintenance had fixed the problem. Guys my “Air-conditioned” room I payed for became a “fan” room. This hotel ain’t cheap FYI. My AC never worked for the 3 days. I also did not appreciate how the hotel owner’s daughter handled the situation when she was brought in. Bear in mind, both the front desk person and her came to our room to asses the situation so they knew exactly that we were right. The woman said they were booked out for the weekend due to the Full Moon party and that they would happily return my money to find another place because the AC could not be fixed during my stay due to some maintenance team limitations. As an African and black person, I felt disturbed by a foreigner who is benefiting of a business that many locals cannot and may never afford telling me (a GUEST) that “I can go and find a different place if I don’t want to stay”. This was predatory and disappointing considering we were helpless and knowing fully well that all other hotels and air bnbs were fully booked that weekend. Bear in mind, we gave them enough time to try and rectify the situation. They just didn’t think we wouldn’t settle.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. All the staff and owners are amazing and very caring, will go the extra mile for their guests. Food was excellent.

It is very clean, food is good there and the style is amazing, it is in a location between the two famous beach you have to walk a bit like 10 mins to arrive to Kendwa but it is ok to walk and move your body. I didn’t like the WiFi, it is the worse! They need to solve this issue because it is not ok!

It’s very private. All the rooms are positioned in a circle around the pool. Decor was fab Beds were a bit hard for my liking

This was a fantastic hotel and I really enjoyed my stay there. I loved room decor; food at the restaurant was of good quality and very tasty (I found this rare in Tanzania), and everything in this hotel was just so comfortable. It is also a relatively small hotel so the two swimming pools never get too busy or noisy. Great facilities, relaxing atmosphere and beautiful rooms. The only drawback was location - it is a good 10 minute walk to the nearest beach which is not far but the walk is rather unpleasant, first alongside a dusty road and then through a path with smelly rubbish on both sides. Also food in the restaurant always takes about 45- 50 mins to arrive even when restaurant is not busy, this should definitely be improved.

The staff was amazing - really helpful when it came to anything from recommending restaurants and beach clubs, to an efficient and affordable taxi service to helping celebrate my birthday with a bang. Really appreciated all of their service! The hotel is quite big which gives it a private feel to it. Each room also has an area outside of the room with sofas where you can hang out, dry your swimwear or even work out! It has 2 pools which is really handy although we didn’t use it much. It’s also right in between Kendwa and Nungwi beach, very practical! This might not be fair as we didn’t raise the issue so it could’ve been solved but our shower water had a really strong sewage odor. In addition, the WiFi was spotty and almost non existent in our room although we had a room close to reception.
