Sleep Inn Oakbrook Terrace - Chicago

I would really love to give this hotel 5 stars because the staff try very hard to keep the place clean and to be helpful to their guests. However, the place isn't maintained well by the owners. Carpets need to be replaced as they smell and are moldy or are ripped, system's fans dont work so there isn't ventilation in the bathrooms, furniture needs replacing or deep cleaning, toilets aren't flushing, etc. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast is better than most hotels. Our room smelled and caused my allergies to flare up so I suspected mold. Staff were very kind, however, and went out of their way to provide us with a pleasant experience when they learned of the reason for our stay.

Staff was wonderful. Breakfast ok. Renovations were well done. Place needs a good cleaning especially the carpet. Saw a baby mouse in the stairwell.

The breakfast was great! Lots of food options and a spacious and clean dining area. We liked the comfortable mattress and the good water pressure in the shower! There was a candy wrapper on the carpet and hairs on the bathroom floor! Was it cleaned before our arrival? I requested a quiet room location away from noisy equipment and on the opposite side of the building from the major street, But the room faced 22nd Ave and noisy condenser units were under the window. The windows did not keep out exterior noise effectively.

Location was safe area The room given was dirty. Hair in bed and all over bathroom floor. Carpet had two large holes and stains all over. Bed sheets and cover were stained. They charged us twice for room. Noise was so loud from people in hotel having a party. Room vibrated when anyone close shut door. Lady at front desk gave us room number that was nonexistent. Room was way over priced! Would never stay here again

It was clean. The people there at the desk need to smile more. Learn how to be friendly and nice. I know this was in Chicago, but we still need to learn proper concierge services.

Everything about our stay was OK, no problems.

Breakfast was descent. Near many restaurants and shops. Overall location was a plus. Overbooked double bed rooms so had to accommodate with a rollaway bed. Offered to change room after 1st night stay. Guests hanging out around the parking lot late at night.
