The room was fine. The restaurant in the lobby was fine, with helpful and friendly staff. It was a good choice for our needs. No issues.

Stayed for a night and it was enjoyable

Great staff, clean spacious room with outside seating. Good shower and bed. Loved the soft bathrobe! Breakfast at Otto’s was good. Valet parking was confusing/slow on arrival (Friday around 6pm). We didn’t use our in/out service the next day because of this, instead we took an Uber to visit the Oakland Zoo. Friends dropped us off in town.

This may have been my favorite hotel i've ever stayed at! Stylish, clean, great staff in a good location. Loved it!

I had the nicest, kindest front desk agent, Jaynae! We were laughing and crying at the same time. She was engaging and super smiley. She welcomed me for a late night check-in and was there, still smiling at 7a when I had to check out. Jaynae made my visit!! Thank you!

Clean and modern Price

Nice, sorta hip spot - looks like they revamped a boutique hotel. You enter to a great little vibe, bar on the left, and a very nice staff. Room was large and bright with a comfy bed. Did not try to the restaurant but the coffee was decent.

The resort fee was a surprise as it did not seem like a resort.

Staff was super helpful. I forgot my phone charger and the staff recommended exactly how to replace it. The waitress (I think Janessa?) was very attentive & the bartenders Miguel & Gilbert were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent, really exceeded my expectations! The location is really convenient and I walked around by myself, felt very safe. I had a patio room and really enjoyed coffee in the morning outside. Highly recommend! There is a rooftop bar which I did not check out… my room was by the stairs to the bar so there was some noise one night but they shut down around 11p so I found that reasonable enough & did not negatively impact my stay.

The housekeeping staff kept our room immaculate. When we needed more decaf, it was delivered to our room within minutes. And we loved the location - close to myriad of cofes, an off-the-charts bakery, and within easy walking distance of BART.
-
The valet parking was not great. Upon arriving it wasn’t clear how the system actually worked as there was a sign but no real direction and space to stop
-
The hotel and Staff are Great , Great location BUT THE VALET PARKING IS HORRIBLE,,, they’re us not much option for parking except the valet it takes over a hour to get your car about of people where very unset Great place to stay but take a Uber

breakfast is good. Neigborhood dodgy. Kind of a wasteland vibe.

Location, close (walkable) to Lake Merritt, the 19th St BART station, restaurants, cafes, museums, farmers market, and even a lively beer garden. Clean and welcoming facilities. We love staying here. Or room had an outdoor patio - also welcoming Very welcoming staff; always smiling and helpful. Excellent food and drinks in the lobby restaurant which even bakes its own bread. What more can we ask for!

We stayed 5 nights 7/16-7/21 for Mosswood Meltdown and seeing friends in the Bay Area. Superb location for the shows. Had a terrace room where chair cushions were dirty and unappealing. That was disappointing. Grab and go snacks in the lobby were great for late nights. ALL the staff, meaning valet, front door, housekeeping, and front desk were friendly and kind. The housekeeper for 3rd floor was excellent, the best of the best. She was more than kind and accommodating when we asked for housekeeping late in the day on Sunday after the World Cup finals, which we watched comfortably in our room. Wish I’d gotten her name as she deserves the highest praise. Very grateful for her service and for Bethany at the front desk. She was also an excellent host. I loved the gritty/gentry neighborhood. Go to Sweetbar bakery and Drake’s Dealership near the hotel and Tallboy and Tacos Oscar in the Temescal neighborhood. Overall, a great stay and would come back here in a second. Thank you staff at the Kissel!!
