Perfect place! Beautiful location!

My reservations were booked through Expedia but were not properly connected. Although I was repeatedly told the issue would be fixed, I had to return to the front desk and re-check in three separate times. Even then, information was not properly transferred. At one point, room service told me there was no credit card associated with my room, requiring yet another trip downstairs to provide information the hotel should already have had. My first room was also extremely noisy due to a connecting door and being directly across from the ice machine. The hotel eventually moved me to a quieter room, which I appreciated, but it came after additional inconvenience. What disappointed me most was the overall lack of hospitality. During a 10-day stay, I rarely felt acknowledged as a guest outside of housekeeping, security, and some bell staff. Even at checkout, I returned from retrieving my car to find that the bellman who said he would stay with my luggage had left, leaving my belongings unattended. I spent much of this stay feeling as though I had to manage my own hotel experience—following up on reservations, repeatedly checking in, providing payment information again, addressing room problems, and advocating for basic service.

I booked through Expedia, and my consecutive reservations apparently were not properly connected. I was told this would be corrected, but instead I had to return to the front desk and essentially re-check in multiple times during my stay. Even after doing so, everything still was not properly transferred between the reservations, including my Marriott Bonvoy information. At one point, I ordered room service and was told the hotel did not have a credit card on file for my room. I was already a registered guest who had been staying at the property, yet I had to go downstairs again and provide my card. That experience summed up much of the stay: I constantly felt like I was doing the administrative work necessary for the hotel to accommodate me as its guest. The room experience started poorly as well. My first room was next to a connecting door, and I could clearly hear the guests next door talking and laughing. I was also directly across from the ice machine and could hear people coming and going for ice. When I initially called about the noise, I was told I was not in a connecting room, even though there clearly was a connecting door. To the hotel's credit, I was eventually moved to a much quieter room, which I appreciated.

We enjoyed our stay at the Marriot. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The parking was $46 a day for self parking. The garage is attached to the hotel. As a guest, I feel this rate is excessive for a Oakland hotel with it's own garage. The room lacked a microwave which was disappointing as we use to reheat coffee and leftovers at times.

It was okay. Not a very good deal for the price. No pool or spa. Next to an area that really isn’t very safe or clean.

Overall good stay. Would definitely come back and recommend.

Clean, quiet, comfortable space and bed, helpful staff, enjoyed the view from the room, good value

The property was described as being recently renovated, but our room looked like it was renovated more than 10 years ago. The bath was not renovated, and the tub was discolored, and the grout was black. We booked three nights, but terminated our stay after one night.

Amazing place to stay. Neighborhood felt safe. The view of the bay was awesome. We enjoyed our stay here.
