Beakfast was great lovely fresh fruit and good coffee. Eggs and other things were on offer but we did not try them. We love the Casa Arnel. Beautiful interior plant and parrot filled court and a fabulous terrace on second floor from where you can watch the best of the Jalatlaco neighborhood, from wedding calendas to religious holidays to bands and every day people selling their wares and tourists taking it all in.

I wish the lightbulb had a cover it was kind of bright.

The complimentary breakfast included 3 kinds of fresh fruit, yogurt, dry cereals, orange juice, coffee--very good. For the price I was satisfied with everything.

Really nice, peaceful courtyard & common areas, loved the continental breakfast & rooftop

Excellent: 3 kinds of fresh fruit, yogurt, dry cereals (2), milk, orange juice, coffee. This is far more than I had expected for a "continental breakfast." Plus others there were repeat guests at the hotel and very friendly and helpful to anyone who didn't already know Oaxaca. There is also a beautiful roof garden with bar and restaurant open for dinner. The bathroom was very small. A large or heavy person would have trouble using the toilet. I'm small so it was adequate for me. The rooms are basic, not for those who need all the comforts of home.

It was very quiet so I slept well. The breakfast was good, including the coffee. My room was a good size. Nice that it is family run and the owner and his son were friendly. Cool parrots there. Lots of restaurants in the neighborhood and fun to walk around and see the street art, lots of skeletons. No one told me about the facilities having an upper area with two comfortable lounge chairs. They could have used a few more comfortable lounge chairs since one couple there, who told me about it, seemed to be there often. The other seats available were hard metal so not so comfy to lounge on. I also thought it was a little high priced.

Really cute place - from the lovely staff, to the peaceful garden and terrace, to the parrots saying ¡Hola! and wolf whistling you every morning. I actually only booked a single room last minute when an apartment I'd rented fell through, but ended up extending my stay! While the room itself is tiny, you have an entire rooftop and garden to hang out in, plus the cute village vibe of Jalatlaco and easy access to Centro. And a basic breakfast for free. The wifi is also pretty solid (22mbps) and you not only have a desk in your room but also a table in the shade on the rooftop (with better reception for video calls), so it was actually fabulous for remote work. You can even order food and drinks on the rooftop through a window to El Agora next door, which made life so easy! Only downsides are the two wet-room bathrooms shared between many guests, and the rooms are rather echoey so if there is any noise you will hear it (ie weekends)

Staying at Casa Arnel is like being a guest of the family.

Located in one of the oldest neighborhoods, this hotel’s location is ideal, with great eateries, bookstores, and bars within walking distance. The staff was friendly, helpful, and available 24/7. The bathroom could be cleaner and smell better.

Great location and value There is some severe slowness on the WiFi. Only 1 pillow provided for the bed

A decent family run hotel. Good location to tour city. Not fancy, but nice.

Nice inner garden. Friendly staff. Perfect location near the bus station and city center. A bit noisy till midnight and early wake up because of cleanings outside of the room.

The hotel is nice and a good deal but could use some updating. Breakfast and coffee availability was unreliable.

Very clean. Easy walk into the center but lots going on in the area too. Having to wait for staff to buzz you into the property feels a little odd, it would be good to have an access code instead. They keep birds so it can be quite loud in the courtyard at times

    Great location and incredible staff.

Amazing location. Was here for Dia deblos Muertos (Day of the dead). There was always something happening just outside. The town centre was also walkable. The hotel was very outdoorsie with parrots in the garden. Only one shared bathroom that I was aware about. There were times I had to wait for it to be free.
