-Beautiful room and bathroom -Extremely clean and tidy -Water, coffee, and snack provided -Very large bathroom with bathrobe, toiletries, and ample towels provided -Water in the shower was very cold and wouldn’t warm up. Not even lukewarm. Cold. Intolerable! -Superior Suite is in the lobby. The room (“suite”) is separated from the rest of the lobby only by a screen door, which is hidden behind a thick opaque curtain in the room, so anyone in the lobby in the middle of the night could have entered my room through the screen door, which I didn’t know existed until the next morning.

Central, clean and very friendly staff. Just a bit over priced but the friendly staff and roof make it worth it.

The location $ comfort

Amazing place. Our room was lovely, very private and spacious. There is AC which is very beneficial and lots of fans. The roof terrace is nice and this is a good location to the rest of the city. We didn't have it explained to us that the coffees / tea etc was at additional cost so it was quite awkward to realise this after we had been using the coffee machine ourselves. So sorry about that - best to explain to guests!

The staff was incredible and the terrace is beautiful

Everything was wonderful! The room was very comfortable (with AC and fans), bathroom great, and I appreciated the coffee and water in the room. Great rooftop views! There was an issue with the booking, but they were able to accommodate me and actually upgraded me to a huge room. Nothing!

Superb

Good location to get to downtown/centro and Jalatlaco neighborhood. On a main thorough fare, so very loud all day and night and exhaust spell. They put us in the basement despite the entire hostel being empty. This was probably quieter but it was also stuffy with little fresh air flow. Did feel secure and we had the bathroom basically to ourselves.

We managed to book a room at Casa Grande Cochinilla for a week during Dia de los Muertos festivities, the busiest time of the year in Oaxaca. At the time of booking the only room available was a very small room on the lower level with a shared bath and access to a light well, but no view. Upon arrival the staff was very accommodating and managed to get us into a large upper floor room for 5 of our 7 nights. That big room helped to make our stay much more comfortable and pleasant. We appreciated the little touches, like daily coffee and drinking water in our room and chocolates in the lobby. Although there was some street noise, the neighborhood is wonderful, within walking distance to both the restaurants and shops of Barrio Jalatlaco and major sights nearer the Zocala. The hotels' 2 lower floor rooms are very small and share a bath. Recommend booking any of the three upper floor rooms instead.

Nice little boutique hotel located a comfortable distance from the center of town. Nice rooms, nice rooftop terrace. Great food nearby. One of the manager's little dogs was a bit of a barker, but nothing serious.

good breakfast on nice terraza, very clean, room service daily, very nice staff location was on a busy street, but a nice neighborhood behind the b&b. no air conditioners, even though I asked, they said there were coolers, that meant a fan on the floor in each room- not sufficient to cool the rooms. bad smell in the rooms, daily, low water pressure in bathroom. The photos look much nicer than the actual room, they only show a nice view. It is not as represented on the website.

The booking stated that a terrace or balcony was a part of the room. The room I received was very very nice but had no access to a personal balcony or terrace as stated on the airbnb website for the hotel. I think I overpaid for what I received. The staff and attention was great but the room and facilities not as advertised. the actual personal balcony

For some reason this sometimes comes up as a hostel, I saw others say the food was terrible. I'm guessing in the past, perhaps by a previous owner that may have been the case. This is a small lovely boutique guest house/hotel. We had a beautiful king bed, pristine linen and a modern shower/bathroom. The location was excellent, though not central to either main areas, it was perfectly placed for walking to Zocalo or Santo Domingo, with great little restaurants and bars to discover near by. (Or hail a Taxi in a minute for US$2.50). But the best part of the experience was the lovely owner and her 2 VERY helpful assistants. Breakfast was simple home cooked delicious fare on a very nice rooftop.

Terrace, neighborhood Should be half the cost: twin beds pushed together instead of queen, super slow wifi, claimed AC but no AC, hot water runs out really quick, weird entrance, noisy from both street and other rooms, lots of ants. More of a budget hotel than boutique hotel.

Clean but basic room. Staff was helpful in local bookings. Location just on the outskirts of downtown made it easy to walk to destinations. It was quite noisy throughout the night between the street, lobby and general traffic entering and leaving the hotel. Would love if they didn't use single use amenities in the bathrooms from a sustainability perspective.

Nice rooftop, comfortable bed, excellent location within close walking distance of downtown Hot water was a little sporadic, sheets & towels were stiff & coarse
