Great location and very quiet. Staff are great
-
The hotel is centrally located, only a few blocks from the Zocalo. The interior is beautifully decorated and the staff is attentive and very helpful. When my plans fell through for a trip to Monte Alban, they helped me book a new excursion. Also, the hotel is also right across the street from a cute plaza full of different ice cream vendors and next to a beautiful church. It's a fun spot for people watching after a long day exploring the city.

This place is a gem. I was here for a week with my partner and I can't say enough good things about it. It's located right in the centro, off of a relatively busy street but you can't hear it from your room. The room and bathroom was spacious, the staff were incredibly attentive and had amazing recommendations, the garden terrace is gorgeous and relaxing. Bed was comfortable, water pressure was great, we slept incredibly well. And the breakfasts were amazing! You're a stone's throw away from a beautiful market and plaza, and 10-15 minutes walking distance from multiple markets and all the downtown bustle & shopping. It was wonderful to be close but not in the middle of all the tourist attractions. Would stay here again and we miss it already! Nothing comes to mind!

Hotel Casa Pereyra is perfectly located in the center of Oaxaca, just a 10-minute walk from the main square, making it an excellent base for exploring the city. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth by an extremely kind and caring staff who made us feel at home throughout our stay. The rooms are fairly basic in style, but they offer all the comfort needed for a pleasant stay. What truly gives the hotel its charm is the relaxed atmosphere centered around a lovely patio, a peaceful space to unwind after a day in the city. Breakfast is simple but enjoyable, with a continental buffet complemented each morning by a freshly prepared Mexican specialty from the cook. This daily homemade touch was both tasty and much appreciated. A charming and friendly place that offers excellent value and a very authentic Oaxaca experience.

Special breakfast dishes were a treat!
-
Lovely hotel carefully decorated. We noticed something new everyday Excellent breakfast —something different every day. Being greeted by the breakfast staff was a highlight each morning. The staff at the front spoke excellent English and were helpful with recommendations and reservations. Convenient location near Zocolo.

Great location. Very pretty courtyard Room was comfortable. Breakfast should start earlier to accommodate guests with excursions planned. We missed 50% of our included breakfasts because of the late start. The ones we were able to have were very tasty though. Taxi pick up from the airport was way overpriced. Check in was disorganized.
-
The Oaxacan style breakfast was different every morning and very good. There was optional fruit, toast, cereal, juice, etc. offered every morning as well. The staff was very kind and helpful. All the plants and vines made it feel like an oasis in the middle of the city.
-
Extraordinary service. Standout breakfast every morning. Quiet, spacious room in a central location. One of the best hotel experiences we have had in years. 10/10

The hotel managers and their staff were very helpful in getting us taxis and finding drivers for day trips out of Oaxaca City. All requests we made were addressed quickly and completely. The morning breakfast always featured a different Oaxaca specialty which was new to us and delicious. We would stay here again on future trips. Nada

Casa Pereyra is a wonderful oasis of calm and elegance off a busy street close to the Zocalo. All of the staff were welcoming and most helpful in their recommendations for places to eat and things to do and in solving logistical problems. The breakfast was superb and was different each of the five days I was there. I very much look forward to returning to the casa Pereyra on my next visit to Oaxaca. Nothing!

Hotel Casa Pereyra was a perfect base for our first visit to Oaxaca. Our suite was very comfortable and more spacious than we expected, and we enjoyed the peaceful courtyard seating areas. Breakfast featured a different local specialty each day, and a chance to meet other guests. Most of all, we appreciated the exceptionally welcoming team, ready to make sure we had the best time in Oaxaca. We’ll be back!

We booked our 5-day stay at Hotel Casa Pereyra based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews and its proximity to the Zócalo, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The hotel is a beautifully preserved old colonial home, and it is truly gorgeous. From the moment you arrive, César, his wife Sara, and their entire staff make you feel incredibly welcome—you immediately feel right at home. The property itself is stunning, with charming courtyards that invite you to relax and soak in the atmosphere. Breakfast is offered daily from 8–10am and includes yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, juice, toast, coffee, and a rotating traditional Oaxacan specialty that changes every day—so delicious and such a thoughtful touch. In the afternoons, they even set out a bottle of local mezcal in the courtyard for guests to enjoy, which adds to the warm, communal vibe. The rooms are immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The beds are cozy and inviting, making it easy to unwind after a full day of exploring. A small but brilliant detail: they even had a digital hand scale to weigh luggage—super handy after my shopping sprees! Everything about Casa Pereyra feels intentional, welcoming, and authentic. When we come back to Oaxaca, we will definitely be staying here again. Highly, highly recommend! N/A

The property was beautiful, clean, and well-decorated. The entire staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay as nice as possible (Juan Carlos especially). The breakfast was tasty and cooked with lots of love. Great location. Small complaint - the rooms’ private outdoor areas offer little sound privacy. If someone is having a conversation on theirs, it can be heard loud and clear in yours. This wasn’t a huge issue since we spent most of our time outside the hotel exploring.

Staff! They made us feel like family!
-
Nothing Bad location - on main thoroughfare so very noisy No hot water No water pressure Poor WiFi Tiny flat screen tv Meager breakfast No closet What appeared to have been with dows were boarded up with bricks

Location was on a very busy ,noisy road but once through the door was like an oasis of quiet ,cool and calm, all the noise and bustle from outside was firmly shut out. All the staff were extremely friendly , chatty and helpful and had some great suggestions on where to eat and visit. Great breakfast with interesting daily changing hot option, Daily changing homemade juice added and extra layer. An easy 5 minute walk straight down the road to the main plaza from where all parts of the main town were easily reached. We stayed in room 8 which was a bit smaller and tucked away than expected. There is an old historic section of the building with rooms and suites which you pass through to get to the part where our room was located in the new part of the building. We had a small balcony which was covered and shaded but with other balconies from other rooms very close to the side and below. Any conversation from those balconies or from rooms attached could be heard if your patio door was open to let some air in. Our room was in need of redecoration with a lot of scuffing on the walls and some chunks out of the plaster. The walls were completely bare and could have done with any kind of artwork. The other rooms may have offered better value for money but ours seemed expensive for what we got.

This hotel is an oasis! On a busier street but close to everything and it’s very quiet once you enter the grounds. The staff are all amazing and very friendly and helpful.

Service and location were great. When I arrived, there was some construction underway, and the staff kindly upgraded my room so I wouldn’t be disturbed by the noise. I found two cockroaches, one in the room and another in my toiletries bag when going through additional bag screening at the airport.
