APA Hotel & Resort Osaka Umeda Eki Tower

Friendly and helpful staff, hotel was very clean. Loved the onsen. I didn’t think there should be a separate payment to use the pool.

Close proximity to transportation, shopping and restaurants. There’s a Lawson and good restaurants in the tower. Plenty of washers/dryers None

Elevators took very very long. The family mart was very busy— consider having 2 markets at least. Pool closed but it was warm enough it could have been open.

The twins beds room was bigger that I expected, but there was not enough cubbies We saw a cockroach by the pool and it landed on my son’s head. Also, there were a couple of dead bugs in the pool.

Location is nice. The rooms are OK and the rooftop views were excellent. Everything is optimized to extract maximum value- no cleaning service the first 3 days, water dispensers, check in, you need to pay for all services (e.g. pool, gym…). The hotel is so big that the waiting times to grab an elevator could be very long.

The staff were not very helpful during our stay. When I asked for more information about the hotel's luggage transfer service to the airport, the staff member simply told me to scan the QR code instead of explaining how it worked, which felt dismissive. We also had an issue where our luggage scale went missing from our room. We reported it to the front desk because we couldn't find it anywhere. Although they were eventually able to locate it and return it to us the following morning before checkout, the situation was frustrating and left us wondering how it ended up missing in the first place.

Great location. Just a small walk to the Umeda Station (big hub and a lot of shopping if you want that) and some short walks to a lot of restaurants. Clean, nice staff and a very good breakfast buffet. The rooms where small. It’s not a very big deal and I guess that might be the standard. But it was nearly problematic for to people to pass each other on the floor and with suitecases and sacks etc it’s crowded.

Even though there are many rooms on every floor, I didn’t hear any outside noise. It’s comfortable enough if you’re exploring most of the day. It’s a very high volume hotel. Works surprisingly well, though sometimes wait times for the elevator can be very long. Wasn’t aware that there was a (significant) fee for using the gym.

It is not eco friendly as towels were left at our door whether we wanted them or not. The rooms were so small we had to move around one at a time. There was no room for our luggage except for under the beds and no closet.

great as per usual and always clean. same vibe from staff not a warm welcoming very strict female insisting to check in via self check in even when it did not register my stay . Its my third stay this year at this APA and always encounter rude female staff and I stay at a lot of hotels over Japan and never encounter this.
