Its clean, they provide you towel, all necessry stuff. Staff is nice, bed with curtains The train is worse than it sounds. The hostel is UNDER the railway, so the building is SHACKING every 5min. I didnt know its even legal to provide a service under these circumstances. The train is very loud and it shakes not only building but you as well.

The staff might be one of the best staffs i've found in japan. Super nice people and if was not by them my rating would be much lower I ask myself if the owners would ever sleep on this hostel. Who had the brilliant idea of making an hostel under the train line? Is not only the train noise, is the vibration, you feel everything. They tell yiu to put some plugs in the ears that they proviee. Forget that, to have earplus or not is the same. I stayed 4 nights in osaka but glad i only booked 2 nights in this hostel, it gave me freedom for the other 2 nights go to other plafe, since once you make the check in you can't cancel. This is the same i go to a restaurant i pay to eat and for some reason i can't eat. Everyday i woke up at 5am because is the first train passing. Also since the bedrooms are groundfloor, there was a bus close to the window of my bedroom and i could smell gasoline coming inside the bedroom. For more 5euros i found a hotel with private room and private bathroom. Also what i don't like is the fact that the unpleasent info is provided only after you book, it should be already at the pagej

Clean Lovely staff If you mind noise there is train passing right above so can be something to think about, I got us to and slept well. I stay multiple nights and my nose and throat started feeling a bit dry I guess it’s the dust due to vibrations

The bed was comfortable and clean, and the bunk included an outlet, light, shelf and curtains. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean and hair dryers were provided. The staff was very friendly and cheerfully stored my bags both before and after checkout during my travel days. The common spaces were clean as well. When I was there, three out of four outlets in the bathroom weren’t working, so only one person could dry their hair at one time. I hate to bring up the train, because it wasn’t really a problem for me as I was only staying one night. However, I think if I were staying longer, it might get to me…or maybe I would get used to it. Hard to tell! Honestly, despite the train, I would stay there again.

The cafe area is not clean.

Comfortable mattress because I'm a side sleeper and most places I've been to are very thin mattresses meant for back sleeping. Didn't have to get sore muscles massaged out due to that! Lounge was nice. Staff were very friendly and all spoke English. Had a good conversation with Shokai (hope I spelled that right) hope you come back to San Francisco one day! The train line right above is extremely loud and vibrates the place crazy, took a few nights too get used to it but seriously if you're a light sleeper I would recommend somewhere else. Otherwise good stay with friendly staff.

So clean! Super kind staff too! Really comfortable and friendly atmosphere, nobody bothers anyone, and you have big lockers for your luggage! They do warn you about the train sounds, but you can’t tell how scary it is when you’re half awake half asleep and a train passes by ahaha your heart starts racing. The hostel is great but take it with a pinch of salt because the trains genuinely are extremely loud and shake the whole building and only stop around 1am to 5am. I sleep well with noise most of the times and you can also get ear plugs, but honestly the price could be a little bit lower due to the condition or at least you could offer some more amenities! ☺️

The train noise didn’t bother me at all.

Large lounge and dining area. Luggage lockers in the dormitory room are sufficiently large for tall backpacks and large suitcases. Bunk bed had convenient bedside light and charging socket. Clean bedlinen (but not so clean mattress pad!) Shower room is well-provisioned with toiletries and amenities. Hot water and good strong water pressure in the showers. Thanks to Mina and other staff for being responsive to my messages on Booking.com. Reception staff Sakura was polite and professional, even though I arrived in a busy period and she had to deal with several other guests vying for her attention. Small supermarket and convenience stores are within walking distance. The train noise is bothersome but with earplugs or noise cancelling earphones, it's tolerable and I got used to it. The rest of the downsides were mainly poor hygiene from other guests, and the fact that it is a busy hostel -- the area for guests' shoes and indoor slippers got messy fast, a couple of toilets were dirty. It was a rainy day, and wet umbrellas quickly cluttered up the entrance.

Zero security. My shoes got stolen because the hostel has a rule that you cannot take them into your rooms. And the rooms do not even lock. And the lockers in the rooms are not trustworthy…mine broke several times during my stay and I had to ask staff to fix it, and they basically told me this is just what happens to them. Completely unacceptable

I wish I had read the reviews about the noise from the train. Because the hostel is under the train track, it can be very loud. The quiet times are between 1am and 7am because that’s when the trains run.

    Superb

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

I really liked how spacious and comfortable it was, also it felt safe and an easy space to be in. I found the train noises a little loud, but they died down once the night got on, so it was fine.

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

Location was great, near 3 subway stations, many restaurants nearby, including a great Izakaya called kitchen ohana and a large onsen nearby. Must take note of the train noise before booking, toilets were slightly dirtier than expected.

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

The hotel was close to the subway station and other eating spots. It is also really close to Dontonbori Street. It was right under the train tracks so there is a lot of noise and also a bit of movement, although very little.

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

Room’s were very spacious, showers/bathrooms were always very clean, cool hangout space train was a little loud but the staff do provide earplugs and you get used to it
