Dotonbori Hotel

Very very small room

Convenient, clean, and comfortable. Facilities like the laundry room and the lobby were easy to access at all hours. It feels like a quiet resting spot just to the side of the busy chaos of Dotonbori.

Perfect staff, excellent location. Very small rooms, extremely small bathroom.

The location is excellent. The amenities are above and beyond what other hotels of the same caliber can offer. We stayed in Urban Hotel Kyoto Gojo Premium hotel, a 4-star hotel, and yet the amenities and services of Dotonbori Hotel, a 3-star hotel, are a lot better. I don't recommend Urban Hotel Kyoto Gojo Premium; avoid it if you can. But I highly recommend Dotonbori Hotel. well worth every penny paid. The hotel rooms are small, like many 3-Star hotels in Japan. However, the services, amenities, and location of Dotonbori Hotel far exceeded those of the other hotel. The bonus that our family and friends love the most is the drinks, ice cream, and Bowls of noodles, which are the icing on the cake. We love it. Oh, plus the massage chairs are awesome; it helps relax the body after a long day of exploration. We love Dotonbori Hotel. Nothing really, besides the small room size. However, it's expected in Japan that rooms are typically smaller in a 3-Star hotel.

The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. I also appreciated the complimentary refreshments and daily activities offered by the hotel. The location was very convenient and within walking distance of shopping areas, restaurants, and nearby subway access, which made getting around Osaka easy. Unfortunately, our room experience was very disappointing. The room had a strong odor upon arrival that smelled like smoke and urine and did not feel fresh or clean. The property felt very outdated and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom was extremely small — even smaller than a cruise ship bathroom — making showering and using the toilet uncomfortable. We also discovered stains on the bed sheets and provided pajamas, which raised concerns about cleanliness. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to sleep comfortably throughout the night.

The location is excellent, close to everything. Overall, very recommended. .

There were a lot of free extras available at the reception including a portable wifi box that we could take with us when we left the hotel. There was also a drink machine and ice cream available during the day. The location was perfect to be close to the shopping streets, Running Man sign and train station. A lot of hotels in Japan have smoking room. Our floor was fine but it was possible to smell cigarettes when taking the stairway past different floors.

Location was amazing as were the staff. Free ice cream and drinks was a bonus. Nothing.

Great location When asked for a extra pillow in was told no only two pillows per bed.

Clean and classy Very small room

The distance and the hospitality of the hotel. It had so many events and freebies given to the customers. The distance from the train station. It is quiet far but manageable.

The free drinks, ice cream, cup noodles; the fun events for kids like kimono rental, postcard making, etc Free massage in the massage chair :) Room is a bit small but everything else is perfect

The only thing that really brings the rate up is the location, it's right in Dotombori, which was very convenient and amazing. The room was rather cramped, although we knew the size of it was 11-12 mp². What we definitely didn't expect was not to be able to see out the window (opaque window) and not to be able to open it either as the only thing that could get through is was the smell of smoke. So the light was terrible, and so was the bed (both mattress and pillows were uncomfortable). Also if you want to use the laundry room, make sure to prepare as it is going to take some time. The washing cycle was 30 minutes long, and so was the drying one (done separately). But the drying is not nearly enough so you'll have to do it several times.

Everything was excellent, from staff to room to amenities. The location was excellent, close to everything. The biggest surprise was the room, spacious for a family of 3 with 3 large suitcases. Every work day there is an event. From afternoon to early evening an "open" for alcoholic drinks, ramen and ice cream. NONE

Location Room was quite small for a family of 4

The location of this hotel was amazing as well as the staff. The staff had exceptional customer service as well as the hotel hosted daily events that were fun. The free ice cream and drinks was an added bonus! We would stay here again. The pillows were uncomfortable - as we found with a lot of Japanese hotels.

Great value, great staff, great location A bit old and rusty

Centrally located in the famous Dotombori. Staff were extremely accommodating as with every hotel we stayed in in Japan. They helped us deliver our luggage with ease, and even let us check in early. As with all hotels in Japan they have every amenity you could need, and free drinks and coffee. Great short stay in this very economical hotel that went above and beyond for us.

Laundry facilities were good. Breakfasts were good but could have more fruits and variety of meat. Lobby was crowded and not very clean. Our first room was so badly designed and uncomfortable, felt like a jail cell.
