The shower and overall bedding and room There was a really bad smell, like sewage smell and the deodorizing spray didn’t work. There was also a mosquito and two crawling bugs.

Room was great and very comfortable. The location was great as you can easily access the train. Overall it was a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Comfortable hotel. Looks nice and had everything one would expect. Great price. Not the most convenient location and the breakfast is kind of expensive. Terrible WiFi.

We really enjoyed how close R Hotel was to the subway, as well as several local cafes and convenience stores. For the value and location just outside of downtown Namba, we felt this was an excellent choice. The staff were helpful, and the check-in process was smooth and easy. While the hotel itself was clean and well-kept, the surrounding neighborhood felt a bit grittier than other areas we stayed in. Although the streets were fairly well-lit, the area seemed more run-down overall, and I personally would not have felt very comfortable walking alone there at night. That said, I compare it to feeling like you're walking down an unfamiliar street in NYC. We didn't experience anything bad in this neighborhood, it just offers a different perspective of Japan.

The rooms were unacceptably small, with barely enough space to move comfortably. Basic services were also lacking. There is no daily housekeeping unless you request it a day in advance, which is highly inconvenient. Amenities are not provided in the room and are instead kept at reception, meaning you have to go down every time you need something—even for fresh towels. On top of that, there is no complimentary water in the room. Overall, this falls well below standard hospitality expectations and makes the stay unnecessarily inconvenient.
