The proprty is elegantly and tastefully appointed. Bathroom lacked grooming items typical of a property at this price point.

    Very good

The room was much more spacious than we expected, with beautiful interiors, view across the valley and thoughtful touches such as the luxury body wash and the radio tuned to BBC Radio 3 Unwind on arrival (now our favourite radio station!). The breakfast staff were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the breakfast itself was excellent, with a great selection of options, particularly the homemade crumpets and fruit compote. Nothing we didn't like, but there was a missed opportunity to make an already great stay even more memorable. The hotel knew we were staying for our wedding, a small congratulatory gesture like a card, flowers, would have been a lovely personal touch and would have really elevated the experience.

The property was nice. We had a palladium room and paid around £495 per night. Excellent breakfast … lots of buffet to choose and food from the kitchen cooked fresh Lovely comfy bed. Our bottom sheet had a rip though. Tea and coffee in room was nice. Bottled water in fridge was chargeable. Take your own. There was no air conditioning. … 30+ degrees and offered a fan which had no affect. First night I almost went to sleep in my car with air conditioning or sleep on the outdoor sofas. Managed 3 hours of disturbed sleep .. attic room and no other occupied rooms up there which is why we had a call less than 24 hours before to warn us of heat and offer a refund if we wished to cancel. Couldn’t cancel as we were meeting with friends. Stayed for dinner. First night had one bottle of wine between four of us. Small starter .. main course each one was veggie … dessert. £380. More attention to presentation of hotel needed. Carpet was grubby in places. I even took to sponging marks off myself as such a shame. Paint work tired and chipped… We were sitting outside around 10-10.30 pm .. watching stars and planets. Manager came and asked us to be quiet. It was people in the pool room Who were making noise so we went inside and cut our evening short. Surely as manger approached us he could hear we were not making any noise. Tried to book to use sister hotel for a swim and spa . £40 each and £70 with lunch. However not available Saturday or Sunday. Therefore advert should say ‘if available and charge will be incurred ‘ …

we had two rooms - both excellent LOVED the king room with fireplace and sitting area. Outside lawn area very relaxing. Dining staff very friendly and helpful We arrived a little earlier then official check in time - as thru-hikers it would have been nice to get the rooms a little earlier and/or place to freshen up before sitting down for late lunch. Prices a little high for the length of stay - if a little lower into budget area - would have stayed 2 nights. Would have enjoyed a package that allowed that (like stay 2 nights get 20% off or something enticing like that)
