Good location. No on-site parking despite what the listing says. Street parking very difficult. Room was somewhat cramped because an even more cramped bathroom was carved out of one corner of it. Breakfast was mediocre, bread packaged in plastic. No human contact with owner.

Good value for the money! Close location to city centre! Perfect breakfast at the bar nearby with local experience!

This property was fairly easy to find and it was walkable to the Cathedral, the Norman Castle and Palatine Chapel. This was one apartment building that had a lift which was very convenient. The owner/manager was very helpful. I enjoyed my time at this property and if I ever return to Palermo, I would stay here again. No problems with this property.

Shower is very small and uncomfortable in the middle of the room

Water, tea, caffe and soaps were gratis. Location was great. There was an issue with internet and they were trying to solve the issue even tho it was not completely their fault. Not possible to self-check in. No english speakers, parking in a street was very difficult, streets are full. Unfortunately internet was not working our whole stay. AC was not working to warm up a room. Room and bathroom are close to each other so there is almost no privacy.

The room was clean and quiet, which made for a comfortable night. The bed and pillows were spacious and cozy, allowing us to sleep well. The shower had good temperature control and water pressure, and the room provided coffee, tea, and two free water bottles, which was a nice touch. The building’s elevator had a charming vibe and worked fine. Additionally, the staff was friendly, which we appreciated. The WiFi didn’t work at all, making the provided Netflix account useless. Despite asking multiple times, the staff didn’t fix the WiFi or empty the trashcan, which led to an unpleasant smell since the toilet paper had to be disposed of in a bin rather than flushed. The bathroom also had functional issues—the door couldn’t be closed from the inside, which made it awkward, and there was insufficient space to hang towels. The wardrobe couldn’t open fully because of the bed and didn’t have enough hangers. Additionally, if you’re not a coffee drinker, you have to pay extra for breakfast drinks. Given all these issues, the price would only be reasonable during the summer season.

The owner was very friesndly and helpful. The room was big enough. In the evening the street is very dark and nobody is outside. It is a bit scary.

The communication from the owner was fantastic. The room was good value for money & clean with a very comfy bed and together with the expresso machine + Netflix this made it an enjoyable stay. Small hiccup on our side but the owner was very understanding. Well worth the money. small bit serviceable ensuite bathroom and shower.

After the initial surprise in regards to the area and lift in the building, I realised the host have done a very good job on providing a very comfortable bed a big room and decent stay at a very low cost… plus coffee and tea facilities. The area in which is located is quite rundown but after walking around, we realised it is quite close to the centre and better kept areas in the city. Looks like backstreet situation is not nice in Palermo.

Great room, kind owner, good price

We had an excellent stay at Stella Maris. The room and bathroom was clean and stylish - with a great view from our balcony - and the location is great. Walking distance to all the main sites, near plenty of great bars and restaurants. The staff were so friendly and took time to provide recommendations. Would definitely come back!
