Le Régent Montmartre by Hiphophostels

The check in was super smooth and the staff we’re friendly I stayed at this hotel in 2023 and had a perfectly fine experience. The facilities and location were great. So I chose it again for our stay in July 2026, and unfortunately, a lot had changed. Starting with the surroundings: as soon as we left the metro station, a beggar tried to harass one of my friends. When we arrived at the hotel entrance, another one began harassing my friend even more aggressively, going as far as exposing himself to her. Once we finally got to the room, it looked nothing like the photos on Booking.com. The bunk beds were worn out, the listing advertised air conditioning but all we found was an old fan, and the bathroom was in terrible shape. The bathtub was deteriorated and the toilet was rusty and clearly neglected. We were supposed to stay five nights, but the conditions were so bad that we left on the very first one. Since our reservation was non-refundable, we lost all five nights’ worth of payment and still had to book another hotel last-minute for the remaining five nights, essentially paying double for our entire stay. The only positive thing I can say is that the receptionist was polite and helpful, genuinely the one bright spot in the whole experience. I truly wish I could recommend this place, but I can’t.

The location was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. Unfortunately, two of my rings went missing from our private room after housekeeping had cleaned it. I reported this to reception immediately, but the situation was not resolved during our stay. Also, the rooms do not have fans, which made the room quite uncomfortable during the summer.

The property was perfect as we needed to catch a train from Gare de Nord and it was in walking distance. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and all the spaces were very clean. There isn’t really anything not to like when you consider this is a budget accommodation.

They are not prepared for the summer. In a room for four people without good ventilation and AC, it is not easy to sleep during the hot weather

The property is perfectly located in Montmarte with a nice view on Sacre Cœur. Due to the warm temperatures it was harder to sleep since with open windows the street in front of the hotel is quite noisy in the night. Friendly stuff and easy in and check out was easy, also it was useful to stare the luggage for our last day in the luggage room

We chose this hotel because of its closeness to the Moulin Rouge. But the location is also great for visitors to the Sacre Coeur. The room was small but enough. The bathroom is nice and offers a bathtub. They offer a kitchen with a fridge (but we didn't use it). There were some good restaurants in the area. The hotel is good for its location and enough for a short stay. You really cannot see the Sacre Coeur from the hotel since there are buildings in front but leaving the hotel and turning a corner you can definitely. It is also just a very short walk away. The rooms we had were only accessible by an elevator in the back for which we needed to walk down some stairs. The room was very small as we could barely fit both of our suitcases inside. At night it was a little loud outside so we didn't open the windows but there was also no AC but a fan.

The facilities were good and was in a good location No AC anywhere as it was 33-38 degrees most days we were there. Fans were average in the rooms and very loud throughout the night.

It is well located, next to mini markets, restaurants and walking distance from Sacre Coeur. The staff was always nice and pleasant. There is a mini kitchen well equiped in the main floor so you can cook meals, and heat food. Also, a common dining area. Rooms can get pretty hot in summer. Although they provide a fan per room.
