It's a 15-minute walk from both Gare de l'est and Gare du nord. It's got character - of a distinctly dated kind. The overall vibe was of a hotel that opened in the early 60s, which the owners liked so much they'd kept completely unchanged. Which I found quite entertaining, though anyone looking for luxury really wouldn't. Lots of shops (inc Carrefour and Lidl) very close - with an excellent second-hand bookstore just round the corner. Madame was very welcoming. (Though I have no idea whether she speaks any English.) I'm a traveller rather than a tourist, so I'd use it again for an overnight between trains. It was neither very clean nor very well maintained. And 'basic' is the absolute top end of where I'd put it. I didn't much like the shared toilet - but that was as advertised, so I knew what I was getting. (TBF there are en-suite rooms for more money.) No lifts - though Madame was happy to have my main case downstairs. The neighbourhood was very noisy at night - lots of bikes revving and blokes shouting. And the cleaning lady clearly felt that I should leave earlier than my check-out to let her get on with changing the bed! Overall, not the place for a few nights sightseeing in Paris - nor somewhere to take a loved one for a romatic weekend!

Ladies working there were friendly, room was clean, curfew was explained to us when we checked in, felt safe on the property, great location. WiFi did not work in the room, it was very hot and we would have appreciated a fan

I would not stay here again. If you leave at certain hours, they won’t let you back in the hotel under any condition. The place is not very clean and just overall not the best option.

Clean and friendly, with a basic but relatively spacious room with a basin that was fine for one night. It was quiet enough and the 24-hour reception was friendly. They kindly looked after my luggage for a while after I had checked out. 5th-floor room on a narrow staircase with no lift, the shower being on the ground floor and the toilet on the 6th. OK for a night if you can manage stairs!

Bathroom and shower were on a different floor

Ok place for a single guy. What I expected.

Outdated, inconvenient. Curfew, cleanliness of amenities, maintenance, etc.

Great location. Only a few minutes walk to subway and restaurants. Old building with lots of history and charm. Very clean. Shared washrooms and shower were not an issue.

Excellent location Bedding was old fashioned and marginally clean

The location was absolutely perfect. The APARTMENT I wound up in was spacious, cozy and relatively quiet, despite being in a central urban location. It definitely felt like a home. The reason I upgraded to an apartment. I arrived at the property and was told I have a 1:30 am curfew. I was very surprised by this. The man working at reception insisted that booking.com warned me of this. All I was able to see was that there is no one working at the reception desk between 1:30 am and 6:30 am. Apparently, I was supposed to infer that there was no entry to the building during that time. Either this was miscommunicated by the property to booking.com, or miscommunicated by booking.com to customers. I was told that I could avoid the curfew by paying an additional 15 Euros a night and being moved into the apartment building next door, for a total at 25 nights of 375 Euros. I was dismayed, but I paid for the upgrade. I must say, it did bother me quite a bit, although I liked the apartment. The staff was not very responsive to my needs. There were no towels and when asked for some, I was told that I must be mistaken because there are towels. In fact. There were none. The man resisted giving me a towel, until I absolutely insisted that I must have a towel. A few days later, I was denied a garbage bag by another employee, who said he couldn’t get one for me because his foot was injured. I came back the next day and another girl who worked there said she can’t help me with a garbage bag. Fortunately for me, a housekeeper was there and she got me a garbage bag. After those experiences, I avoided asking them for anything else for the rest of the trip. I should not have to fight for towels and garbage bags. It was six stories of stairs to get up to. The shower was extremely tiny, there often was no hot water, and there was leaking from the toilet.

The location is pretty good. Walkable to some cool restaurants and a metro. It can be a bit loud on a weekend night though Only two bathrooms and shower. For all the floors... that's insane.. it's a bit dingy. It's really loud when you're on the second (or third) floor and you can hear people shouting or screaming after a club. It feels like a hostel but not even enough showers and toilets a mid tier hostel would have. It's dingy and the bed was *not* comfortable.

Hotel near metro station. Easy to go anywhere in Paris. Good restaurants nearby. Staff told me that they were good value. Lots of interesting places to discover too. Felt safe in their care. Good security. Customers to be aware that there is no lift. Need to be able to carry your bag upstairs. Also, curfew at 1.30 am, but thats plenty of time.

Very low price, especially for a city like Paris, easy access to Metro and fairly close to intercity rail No privacy-- toilet down the hall, shower/bath downstairs, limited space or electricity access, lights that flickered, neighborhood a little off. I would not stay there again.

The room looked dark when we arrived, and only one light bulb for the entire room was working — it gave off a dim yellow light. The walls were faded and looked a bit depressing. I mentioned the lack of light in the room, and the cleaning staff kindly added an extra light bulb.

Don't hope it's a hotel 5 stars you know what you reserve, I love the ambiance Moroccan 90's But you can hear your neighbors distinctly, the walls are very thin. Prepare your earplugs!

No shower on the property. No AC

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

    Location Cleanliness , bad smell

  • Engine customer Jun 2025

Close to the downtown It was very small. And not clean nor comfortable very inconvenient to go 4 floors down to shower.

  • Engine customer Jun 2025

Only the location because close to the metro station There is no shower room. I book a solo room and I got the single room with shared toilet in 2nd floor of the building through online. But when I arrived at the facility they give me a room at the 6th floor. Take note they don’t have elevator. Im expecting shower room together with the toilet every floor bad sadly only toilet every floor is available. If you want to take a shower you need to go down to the first floor. Not recommended place for me unless they improve their quality and service.
