Everything was perfect

This is a room above a pub. It had all the necessary stuff like a bed, shower and toilet. Everything was clean and in working order. A bit stuffy in the room and while the window/door did open it was on a shared veranda so not ideal during the night. There was a safety chain but it didn't feel overly safe. No shower mat was provided.

I liked the proximity to the station I was given a room that wasn’t clean - there was a cigarette butt on the carpet, rubbish in some drawers and the sheets were so clearly used as they were riddled with dark back hairs. The staff member that moved me to another room said “sorry, this one should be clean” and that was it. It wasn’t properly clean - there was still evidence of use in the bathroom and shower and popcorn on the floor next to the bed but at that point I just wanted to go to bed. I slept on top of the bed because you absolutely couldn’t convince me the sheets were clean in that room either. Also, the only “window” is a door to a balcony that multiple rooms can access so I hope whoever stays moving forward doesn’t feel the need for air/light and privacy at the same time. Lastly, there’s no signage for check out and I needed to leave at 7:15 when it seemed there was no one in the office so I gave my keys to the cleaning lady and hoped for the best.

The room was huge & the bathroom was brand new. If I was to renovate my own bathroom, I'd rent this room again for inspiration. There was no bedside light.
