Welcome to Shiralee Hostel — where your Perth adventure starts and your plans definitely change. Smack bang in the Perth CBD, you’re a 12-minute walk from Northbridge’s bars, restaurants, and nightclubs (yes, those nights), and just a 4-minute drive from Beaufort Street’s café crawl. House rule: bring a valid passport for check-in. Hang out on the terrace, flip something on the BBQ, or make new “best friends for 3 days” in the shared lounge. The communal kitchen is ready for your culinary masterpieces (or instant noodles — we don’t judge). Mornings are covered with free breakfast — toast, bread, butter, peanut butter, marmalade, and jams to help you recover and reset. There’s free Wi-Fi in public areas, laundry facilities to rescue your backpack wardrobe, and vending machines for late-night snack emergencies. All rooms are air-conditioned, with shared bathrooms and zero pressure — just good vibes and chilled living. When you’re ready to explore (or escape), Kings Park is a quick 9-minute drive for views and picnics, and Cottesloe Beach is only 20 minutes away for salty swims and sunset magic. Sleep. Snack. Very social hostel, with a good mix of people from all over. Bed was comfy and the basic breakfast is a nice little touch. The hostel has a very homey vibe and felt much more like a house than a hostel Cleaning of common areas seemed to happen at the busiest times in the common areas. So probably cleaning after breakfast would be a little more ideal. That said everything was clean!

Well equipped, organized (kitchen, laundry). Location not bad, just north of Chinatown but not close to any tourist destinations (if tourism is what anyone is here for) Incredibly noisy (guests, TV in the common area always incredibly loud). Party vibe

This is a very special place with amazing people. I would stay here in Perth again 100 percent. I have been in Australia for the past 21 days staying at hostels all over. This one is my favorite for a variety of reasons. Location is great. Love the house vibe of this place that everyone outs family and the staff is so loving. Thank you for an amazing stay. I loved it all! The kitchen facilities were fantastic and loved the people.

Good location, you can move around easily My room was next to the patio, so you could hear everything—there was noise until early morning. Also, from the other room, you could hear all the noise, even someone snoring. The hostel is small for the number of people staying there, and the rooms are also small, with very little privacy

No parties allowed, which is good for what I was looking for. Guests-managed hostel, no staff nor owner. Only passive-agressive messages on the walls. Quite dirty, uncomfortable mattress, no curtain on the top bunk beds, aircon full-on all night long, if you are on the top bed get ready for a cold.
