Mainly the location In fact, the hotel claims to be "luxurious," but it is old and shabby. Between the badly corroded mirror backing, the dilapidated wardrobes, and the questionable cleanliness of the shower, nothing was up to par.

Location was great. Very walkable. Off of 5th avenue. The room was clean, the air conditioner worked The staff was so helpful and friendly We also enjoyed the pool We were very satisfied

Staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was good. Overall a nice place, clean, and good location. The bed was very firm which worked for me but not as well for my wife. They provide 2 small bottles of water each day. Upon arrival they provide 2 Nespresso pods (but must purchase there after - I bought at the store). Blackout shades successfully blocked out the very bright lights on the outside of their building. The AC worked well. There was a refrigerator. The body wash was usable but the shampoo was terrible. Our one week stay was reasonably quiet, except the last day when it became clear it was quiet because we didn't have anyone above us until then. We paid for the included breakfast, which turned out to be limited to omelet, pancakes, or Chilaquiles (protein costs extra). However, a couple times they made exceptions. This not written down limited menu, that you don't really know for example what's in the omelet, and which can have some exceptions, was irritating. The omelet comes with toast, some beans, and fruit. Doesn't it make sense you could order 2 eggs instead of an omelet? I recommend they print a menu of everything you really can get for the included breakfast so it's clear. The food was good but Ojo de Agua down the street was much better. Also Primo for dinner was our favorite. I also recommend they put a note in the room that additional coffee pods are available for a fee because I assumed that if there were some there upon arrival that housekeeping would replenish. Had I known not to expect that, I could plan accordingly and not bother anyone. A small desk under the TV would have been nice. The TV didn't seem to get any channels. Possibly apps would work on the TV but watching YouTube on a phone sometimes paused because the internet was slow at times. While others rave about the roof pools, I didn't care for them. The music at the bar area was obnoxiously loud. The dark wood floors were burn your feet hot. The very top area with seating didn't have much shade. In general the design and layout of the roof areas were not enjoyable enough to want to hang out there. Despite these details, it was a very good stay, and better than the last stay at the Aloft.

The 2 pools they have are small and super cold!
-
free parking We were in the first floor and our room had a huge light source in our balcony. We couldn’t sleep.

The hotel is close to 5th Ave but far away enough that you're not disturbed by the loud music. The beach is a 10 minute walk which was really convenient. The room didn't come with a locker or a safe. Our neighboring guests were loud at 4 am which isn't the hotel's fault but since we were on the 1st floor I would expect the receptionist to be able to hear the noise and have them quiet down.
