Moonshine Hotel

Very good location, the room was clean, the staff was friendly too was a good experience staying there. Perfect hotel if your purpose is to be close to the bars and spend time with your friends ( can be loud due to the location )

Clean linen & towels Room service folks very pleasant No microwave, no coffee machine in room 19. Basically, the kitchenette had one raggedy stove hooked to a propane cylinder in the room! That must be a Mexican kitchen. Dirty sink. The bathroom roof had mold growing on it and the window couldn’t be closed and lacked a screen. Window in the room lacked screen. Insects/ mosquitoes came in freely. Very steep high stairs to climb up with luggage. Non refundable so I had to stay till the end. The music outside stayed till 4 am. You sleep only during the day.

The staff was excellent! Very helpful and very nice! They made you feel very welcome. There was some construction going on outside of my room and the walls were very thin so I could hear everything through the walls. Also during the night it is very close to a lot of night clubs so it was very noisy until 4am and then the construction would start at 8am. The lady from reception was very nice and wanted to change the room for me but the guy next day was not so willing to do it. So in the end I stayed in the same noisy room. Also there was a grill outside of my room and one day there was still some people after 11pm. The reception helped in this case to let them know that this was out of the ordinary hours.

Excellent location and cleaning, good wi-fi, nice staff! A very short walk to the beach, restaurants and nightlife. Really worth the price! The hotel is close to nightclubs so prepare for party-music playing at night.

I arrived Thursday evening. Greeted by a very beautiful Argentine lady. Friendly and accommodating. Miguel for the night shift was a pleasure to talk to as well. Great value and great location. I didn't mind the loud noise from the clubs near by. I kinda enjoyed it.overall great value for the money. As someone who travels a lot. Most of the time I just need a somewhat comfortable bed with a roof and running water. I came to playa to enjoy playa not to stay in my room. I will definitely be back soon. Please tell the staff and cleaning crew I said thank you! Doors could probably use a peep hole for added security.

I did not like the fact we had to listen to bumping music every night until 4am. It was not in any review we read. Not sure if those were deleted or not

The location of this hotel was great, and the staff is what made it even better. Everyone was very nice and helpful… the property is a little older, but they do a great job keeping it clean and great. Thank you guys.. The only issue is really that it is a little loud at night time… and a little bit of an older hotel. But all in all great value.

The mural at the entrance was fantastic… There was an odd odor present around all the property; a stinky sulphuric smell. It was less in the room, but all around outside. The room’s decor was a dingy color- like a baby poop color, that was then distressed which made it even worse. It just felt dirty and old. There was no bedside table, so I had to put my glasses, phone, water… on the dresser(the only table surface in the room) … the pillows were lumpy.

Its location is by the beach and 5th ave. The grounds are unique. It is by numerous clubs and the music pumps from 8:30 to 4:00 You can feel the base in the walls. We upgraded to a room with a street balcony with a kitchenette. the sinks drain was disconnected the entire time. went to the office twice said it would be fixed offered to change rooms but to one without a balcony which we paid extra for not sure if it was just lip service or truly forgot.

Clean room., comfortable bed. Nice staff. Close to the main part of town. The room we stayed in the first night was right behind reception and very close to the street front. It was very noisy with loud music from a night club a couple of doors down. The music was way-too-loud! There was also quite a lot of loud talking very late at night, actually early morning!

This was our second night staying at Moonshine Hotel and it was much better than our first night. We were given a 'room upgrade'- at no extra charge. The loud, late-night, night club was still there, but this room was much, much quieter than our room the previous night. Much happier!

Nice structure with friendly and accommodating staff ?

Plan for only five hours of sleep. Club music stops at 3:00 in the morning and neighbor music starts at 9:00 in the morning. Planifica dormir solo cinco horas. La música del club termina a las 3:00 de la mañana y la música del vecindario empieza a las 9:00 de la mañana

this is my third time staying there. the location and the staff are great! sometimes the music from next door late at night.

Place was run down, need some major renovating and upgrades to room. drastically. Has a lot of potential. Room was musty and has old run down furniture. Mini fridge has rust. Stayed just to sleep; although spacious. Shower was leaking and had to close the door not to hear it. Bed was hard as a rock.
