We had a great stay at Red Panda hostel - easy check-in, helpful staff on-site and available & very responsive via WhatsApp. We received lots of great travel advice and free entry to Cenote Eden as part of our booking (easy trip via colectivo bus) - wonderful experience. The room was large, nicely decorated, and included sink & fridge. The location is very convenient, very close to ferry terminal, Quinta Avenida and ADO bus terminal. The water cooler was much appreciated. On one night there was loud party music from a nearby venue - bring ear plugs. The other nights were fine.

The wall was probably why I picked this hostal It smelled awful, the staff and girls staying there were always in your business…and problematic. I got my food stolen.I did not enjoy my stay I felt bad for the people working there, the girl who slept and worked there would always ask me for food..she even cried to me about her living in mexico and suffering abuse. I wanted to leave the whole time I felt like I was at a hospital with several patients and felt like I couldn’t leave when I pleased, the noise in the back at all hours gave me a sleep disorder and I stayed here for a month I couldn’t even make it to the beach one time. I had to call the police on these guys who were sexually harassing me and this old man who would smoke cigarettes all day and night right outside of the rooms.

Staff is amazing. So is owner Girls bathroom needs a little cleaning.

Very helpful virtual host, clean and quiet dorms, not a “party” Hostal. The location close to Centro but a little off the main drag and very walkable for a solo traveler. Shares the building with a dive business so would be amazing for divers. Sadly bikes had been stolen so no bikes for rent anymore, though it is very walkable. I was not able to leave my luggage at the Hostal after checkout (11am) because they don’t have a front desk, so I purchased an extra night in the shared dorm to use the locker for the day.

Great hostel, very cute - has a nice pool for the hot days! Location is also nice since it's away from the city center and you get to venture into the "real" Playa Del Carmen. Sinks were very dirty

good location and pretty walkable to most things pool was nice to have reasonably priced Has virtual check in. I was ghosted by my ‘host’ and had to get check in details from cleaning lady, who was thankfully there. toilets are AWFUL and WAY too small. no full kitchen. just a microwave and bar fridge.

No kitchen (a tiny tiny frodge) and no common space area. (well, a tiny one). If you are a solo traveler and want to meet backpackers, pass your way.

Everything was clean, good shower with hot water No kitchen, you can't make food. Just fridge and hot water to make coffee/tea.

The lounge area is right next to the rooms so a few nights the TV was LOUD. This may or may not be common though!

Staff and people,,,I highly recommend red panda Learn diving ,relax quickly by pool or anywhere in place,,
