Hotel Villa dei Misteri
About Hotel Villa dei Misteri
Just 5 minutes from the archaeological site, this hotel takes its name from the ruins of an ancient Pompeian villa located on the same street. The villa is known for a fresco portraying the initiation rites (or "mysteries") of the Dionysian cult. The hotel's relaxed family atmosphere has made it especially popular among archaeologists and architecture schools. It is also perfect for anyone who wants to visit the area away from the city traffic within easy reach of major transportation points. The pool is in the shape of a classic vase and is 82 feet (83 feet) long. A long sun deck stretches above the pool. License Number(s): 15063058ALB0031

Older building but overall great stay - we had everything we needed :) It was quite outdated, but great if you don’t centre your whole stay around the hotel.

Not the best wifi

Nice to have a swim, amazing location for Pompeii ruins.
-
It was close to the entrance to Pompeii Dragging bags up a hill to the hotel. There was a narrow path. Taxi won't take you as it's not a good enough fare for them. Pancakes are on the menu for breakfast but not available.
-
Close to the ruins Advertising they had air conditioning and most rooms do not. No price difference if no air conditioning. Very hot room and loud next to train station and rv park. Breakfast was mediocre. Pool too
-
The bed was really hard. And the bathroom a little outdated.
-
Close to Pompeii and staff was awesome No ac. It was hot

I like the location. There are plenty of places to eat and shop. I also like that we are 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel.
-
The staff was wonderful. Professional and very accommodating. The bed was terrible. Too hard.

Proximity to entrance of Pompeii, can walk everywhere & driving around Pompeii is quite a hassle. Very reasonable rates, very good value. A little worn & dated.

Only 10 minute walk from train station, Pompeii Scavi, and the main entrance to the ruins. Easy 15 minute train ride to Herculaneum and 45 min to Salerno another beautiful Italian city with good access to the Amalfi coast. We were there at beginning of May and sadly the pool was empty and doesn't open until end of May. Similarly, the restaurant was closed but only an easy 20 minute walk to restaurants. Really friendly staff. Lack of pool because too early in their year.

Location to Pompeii and train station. Clean, friendly, comfortable. NA

Very good

Convenient location Welcoming staff Appreciated preparing a fresh breakfast just for us before an early check out Spacious rooms Clean Wonderful fluffy white towels! It is 2* accommodation so was basic in places and furniture and fittings were old and / or worn.
-
Convenient location, clean and staff were helpful and polite. Pool is not heated.

This villa is located close to the train station and close to monte marina entrance (the main) in Pompei scavi. 5 min walk. Everything is clean in the room and there is room for the luggage. Nice pool if you want to take a bath after visiting Pompei or Vesuvius. People at the reception are very nice. A little old fashioned room if you reserve the economy rooms. As it is close to the train station, you may hear the trains pass by. It is not close to the center of the city, which is about 25 minutes walk.

Great location and a lovely breakfast. Staff were great. The bath was wonderful. Room was a little dated in decor but comfortable enough

Staff nice Breakfast "non existent"

We booked the hotel at very short notice, and it was very handy for the station and the entrance to the Pompeii ruins. The hotel/motel is just as it looks in the pictures, a little dated decor wise, but perfectly comfortable and pleasant to stay in. The pool looked very inviting, and the weather was still warm enough in October, but we didn't have our swimming costumes. It was a bit like going on another time travel, back to the 1960s/70s rather than all the way to 79AD. The hotel's restaurant was closed so we had to walk down to the local restaurants, they are a few minutes walk away (fine) but along a road which doesn't have a proper sidewalk/pavement, just a painted line (not good).

Noise echos through the building. AC not good, room was hot
