Extended Stay America Suites - Portland - East

One really big downside was that the halls smelled of marijuana. But that is Oregon.

The stay at this hotel was incredible. The room was exceptionally clean, which was surprising given the affordable price. I’ll definitely choose this hotel if I visit Portland again. This experience has made me a fan of Extended America Hotels.

There was something weird about the property. There were quite a few people hanging around in the parking lot that would make one uncomfortable. They were there when I checked in, when I went out for dinner and when I returned. It was over three hours and they were still around - multiple groups.

Staff was nice the free coffee in the morning was a nice touch. The walls are paper thin I could hear every little thing going on in the hallway and the room behind the bed. The shower floor was nasty and obviously uncleaned.

Check for buds other than that awesome place beautiful place to stay great parking easy access and very friendly no breakfast. They say a full breakfast bar. It is not you just get coffee and snacks. Other than that. It was an awesome stay appreciate their business. Consider for next time stay

They took us in and made sure our accommodations were up to our standards as we had a horrible experience from another stay. Nothing, everything was great.

Property was easy to locate yet private enough ugh that we didn’t have to worry about smash and grab problems Very…..old and sterile. Comfort was not a key focus of the property. While clean, the covering was peeling off the chair. The mattress was encased in a waterproof cover. There were burn marks on the very old laminate counter. Everything worked but. Old. There was an alarm going off periodically that had remained unrepaired for a month. I get that the purpose of the property is a little different yet, everything speaks of poorly maintained. Not what I expect from any kind of hotel type stay. While it was adequate, it had enough of a creepy feel that I would not stay again.

There was no one at the desk, for over 20 minutes, I rang the bell, with no service. I finally left and went next door, where not only did I get a cheaper room, but there weren't a bunch of transient hanging around. Everything

Going into a holiday weekend, noisy alarm that started before our stay continued throughout the weekend. Evidently the third party technician wasn't available until Monday.

The room smelled bad. Had to forfeit cost ofbthe room as I had no choice to leave. Would NOT recommend.

Clean, allowed dogs, quiet. Super great front desk/management. Lots of smokers regularly sitting outside the entrance and only very unhealthy breakfast/snack available.

I would like to be less critical; however, this was overall an extremely bad experience, and for paying $100 a night, that’s unacceptable. The sheets had stains on them, the pillows were flimsy and nonexistent, so that you had to double them over just to be like a normal pillow. On top of that, you only got two pillows per queen bed. The towels were threadbare and like sandpaper. For toiletries, we received one small bottle of shampoo, and two bars of soap. The windows only had a set of Venetian blinds, not like most hotels that have blackout curtains, so at 5 AM the room was lit up and practically unsleepable. The room looked like it had not had upkeep for some time with pain peeling or fading, and the overall appearance poor. The one saving grace was the staff who were extremely friendly and considerate. The front desk worker called me after we got to our room to ask if everything was OK. Seeing the condition of the hotel, I knew complaining was not going to help much, and I just wanted to get to sleep until the morning when I could thankfully leave the hotel and go to the airport. I booked this because airport hotels were charging more and also charging for parking, but in the future, I will spring for a much higher rate to avoid a place like this.

Staff was nice and courteous

When we reached our room, it had a strong unpleasant odor. The bathroom towels were yellow and clearly unwashed, and the bedsheets also had yellow stains. I requested an extra pillow, and it arrived discolored and molded‑looking. Later that night, the guests above us repeatedly moved furniture for over an hour, and constant hallway noise made it impossible to rest. The next morning, a group of people were gathered around my car smoking, adding to the discomfort and safety concerns. Due to the lack of rest and the overall unsafe and unclean environment, we chose not to stay the second night and checked out early. We would like to request a refund, as the stay did not feel safe, clean, or welcoming.
