Staff were very warm and helpful

We were able to check-in earlier, as our room was available. The staff was very kind and the room very nice and clean. It was a very nice surprise and experience as we've never stayed here before. Would definitely consider it again!

Beautiful and comfortable hotel. TV was unusable though - very confusing and poor reception. Could not use TV or log in to paid channels.

Staff was very nice and the rooms were clean and super comfortable. Definately has the keep Portland weird vibe. I requested a fridge in the room and it was done along with complimentary ice, and a bottle of sparkling rose for my wife and I. Very unique decoration with the use of color and mascots throught the building. 10/10.would visit again

I have a very enjoyable stay at the Royal Sonesta. The hotel is nicely appointed and the rooms are comfortable, stylish, and clean. Hotel staff at the front desk were friendly and informative. Restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. Food quality (I only had breakfast) was very good and fresh. The hotel in very conveniently located to local attractions and was nice and quiet at a night.

Bad thing was the cold tap water did not work. We ended with showers in scotching hot water and rinsing mouth with very warm water. Learned to get around the hot water shower problem by letting the water run for a while. Still, it was not pleasant brushing teeth with very warm water. Think the building needs a revamp of its water system.

Overall pleasant stay! Would stay again

Exceptional

Great downtown location with excellent amenities and secured parking. Large comfortable rooms, fitness area and breakfast restaurant.

Location of this hotel is also near a lot of places. The only annoying thing was waiting for the microwave and fridge to arrive. We had a long flight and needed to put some food and medicine in the fridge and it took a while. Just ask ahead and they’ll probably have it in your room (we just didn’t know to request it). One neat thing is you can keep the hotel keys as a souvenir. They have unique fun characters on them and we got to choose/swap out one for each family member.

Perfect room, atmosphere, staff, everything like that. The prices for things like drinks and snacks were pretty ridiculous, and the TV was cable and on demand only with 25 dollars needed to purchase a movie no matter what movie it was.

Very good

This was a very nice room, clean and the whole hotel had great decor. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Location was also fantastic with easy access to public transit and walkable to many restaurants. The only reason I am giving it four stars and not five is that there are a couple of odd things for a 4-star hotel. First of all, there is only an ice machine every other floor which was a bit tedious because the elevators take a while. Second, microwaves and refrigerators are available, but only by request. I find it strange that these items aren't just in every room to begin with but have to be delivered. It's worth noting that there aren't coffee machines in the rooms either, though complimentary coffee is offered in the lobby every day. Finally, housekeeping is also only by request and so you have to remember to tell the front desk you want housekeeping on the way out and what time you'll be back so that they can schedule it. Though, I came back well after my appointed time and my room still hadn't been serviced. None of these things were a very big deal, but if those amenities were just a given instead of by request, it would provide a better guest experience, in my opinion.

Its a bit of a large hotel, I appreciated the upgrade to a suite. Only stayed one night, Portland has changed so much

We loved the central location and the how helpful the checkin staff were in making sure we had adjoining rooms. We also loved the whimsical decor.

very comfortable bed, spacious quiet room recepion area is a little tacky - off sale beers on display shelf ?? Staff were always great. room clean, could have had I little more effort then just a bed change

Fun vibe throughout the hotel, with lots of good options, and lots to do nearby. Would've loved breakfast to be included.
