The staff was kind. The fridge didn’t keep water cold enough. Outside was noisy even after 24:00. The AC was set at 22 degrees and you cannot change it higher than that.

The reception area and lobby have a very nice design and create a good first impression. I also appreciated the added sense of security, as the entrance doors are locked after 10:00 p.m., which made me feel safer during my stay. When I pulled back the bed covers, a small cockroach came out from under the pillow, which was very unpleasant. The room was also extremely noisy, even though I was staying on the 4th floor, as a lot of street noise could be heard throughout the night. There was a noticeable old-building smell in the room. I understand that this may not be something the hotel can completely control, but providing an air freshener or some form of odor control in each room would make a big difference. The glass shower door did not work properly and felt unstable, which was concerning from a safety perspective. Finally, one of the reasons I choose this hotel was the garden advertised in the photos. Unfortunately, it is under renovation during summer, so we couldn't use it. It would have been appreciated if the hotel had informed guests about this in advance.

Sweet hotel with wonderful history, a terrific and helpful staff (special thanks to the AMAZING Tiago), good location, great value!

It was centrally located in the Ribeira district . The second room that was assigned to me was of good size and had its own balcony. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, I would have given this hotel an exceptional over all rating but the staff failed to come through in the end. I was told that the reception was open 24/7 but in the early morning of my check out, I came down at 4:50 in the morning and nobody was in the reception desk! There was a solid door in front of the glass doors to the outside and I had no clue how to open that door!! Nobody was there to help with my luggage down the 6-7 steps down to the street! I was not told any of this when I called the night before to make sure the taxi was all set. I called several times but no one answered ?. Luckily there was a couple also checking out and the guy checked the solid doors and he was able to unlock it. If not for that I may have missed my flight. But I still had to carry my luggage’s down the stairs and into the street. I hurt my knee during a steep hike the week before so it wasn’t easy at all. It was a very sad ending to what would have been an exceptional hotel experience. Unfortunately I had to call a spade a spade. How can there be nobody at the front desk if they advertised that there is someone there 24/7. It’s like running a race well and quitting near the end. The staff failed to deliver the “knock out punch” so to speak.

It was convenient for my vacation today N/A.

Very friendly and cooperative staff.

Location was nice Upon arrival we were told the rooms were ready but we could not go in unless we paid $20 extra- if we waited till 4pm check in we wouldn’t have to pay. At 4 pm a mass amount of people rushed the check in desk- strange policy Bathroom flooded- alerted the front desk. Went out and upon return nothing was ever done.

Very quaint neatly organized and spacious rooms. No elevator to the lobby for large bags
-
The location, the staff, the room! The fact that door closes late so you have to ring door bell and wait to be let in. Can be scary as a solo traveler.

It is very nice, extremely clean, beautiful place, location, location, location, and the staff is awesome Nothing!

It is a wonderful historic hotel, in an excellent centrally located neighborhood, with a quirky layout which added to the charm with several sitting rooms off of the lobby. Beds were very comfortable, linens were high quality, and water pressure was excellent. We had a lovely view of the back garden and a little balcony. The staff was very responsive, especially when we overflowed the shower. They gave us an option of two different rooms and moved us promptly.

The decor was amazing. Quality of food was ok but nothing special. Decent variety of food. Eggs were bland.

the staff is nice and supportive. the bathroom is terrible, too small. the are is too noisy and the elevator makes a huge sound every time someone push the button. I dont recommend stay close to Galerias de Paris street, unless you are younger than 25 years old.

Great location. Hotel desperately needs renovation. Smells on humidity. Toilets in the room are renovated, but furniture old-damaged. We came in the morning, check in is at 4pm ( !!!), they do not let anyone in the room, then all guests need to wait in a que at 4 pm to get the keys. When asked in the morning, upon arrival, can we enter the first cleaned room they said no. Lady on reception, who said she is a hotel manager, said that in other hotels they charge for luggage keeping (??) They do not clean room UNLESS you put mark on the door, So frist day we had dirty towels and uncleaned room. Second day, when we had mark on the door, they came around 5pm to clean after we called! Breakfast is ok, but quite modest, too simple - better not include and go to first restaurant. I booked poor hotel this time, in all other locations through booking I had very positive reviews of 4*, 5* hotels.
