Outstanding location!

Absolutely exceptional staffing. Both ladies I spoke with were kind and one even remembered my name when I came down to ask a question later after checking in. The ambience of the common spaces was nicely appointed as well. The dorm rooms have definitely seen better days. The bed and room space was used and abused from frequent guests and could really stand to be upgraded. The triple bunks pictured online showed stair steps, but when I arrived, I was put on the very top bunk and had a super uncomfortable two story ladder to climb. After walking the camino, it was painful to climb in and out of. The locker storage in the bed was ok for small items, but there was no designated space in the room for luggage, so guests end up spreading their things all over the floor. In my room, there was a gaping hole in the ceiling, which, after reading other reviews, has apparently been there for a while… I read about bed bugs and noticed one bed in my room that hadn’t been made up with blankets. The mattress looked like it had dirty spots on it like the property knew not to rent it, but again, not doing anything about it. I understand that a historic building is going to have its share of issues, but the bedroom areas really should be addressed if they are going to charge this much per night.

You cannot throw toilet paper in the toilet

The property was very clean throughout my stay, which I really appreciated. The staff were consistently helpful and the overall service was good. I also liked the outdoor patio area, it was a nice space to relax. The beds were spacious and comfortable, and the general upkeep of the place was clearly well maintained. Props to Evie, the housekeeping staff! And the location , 10000/10!!! The main issue for me was the layout of the hostel, which didn’t feel very comfortable or practical during the stay. The upper bunks were quite high, which made them harder to use comfortably. I also didn’t like the bathroom setup, and the all-gender shared bathrooms weren’t ideal for my personal preference. In addition, the floorboards in the “all female” dorm room were quite creaky, which made movement in the room a bit distracting at times.

First, All the hosts at front desk are excellent. They have knowledge of the area and give excellent recommendations. The beds are comfortable enough and have very good privacy, and you can light up your bed area without concerns of bothering others and them you. Very good location with plenty of restaurants nearby. Wish the steps for upper bunks were little wider. Hurt my feet going up and down. But I am a bit older (over 50). Need some holders and at least one more hook for showers. No real place to put your stuff and no privacy beyond in the shower itself.

I had a private room which was in the garden. Convenient and quiet in the inner courtyard/garden.

Very well located, warm staff, clean It lacked place to work

I absolutely loved my stay in Rosalma. I stayed in a female dorm, the bed was super comfy, people friendly, and girls on the reception were the best ! This is a place to be when staying in Porto.

excellent location, good facilities, cleanliness
-
Very well maintained and clean, the beds, pillows and blankets are good quality and very clean, the curtains effectively provide some privacy even in a room with 6 other people, the staff was very friendly, and the price was very affordable. The space is very pleasant, good lighting, mixing traditional with modern

Separated bathrooms would've been better. Maybe in a room there were too many beds, the morning after the room was very smelly.

Well managed. Super friendly staff. 8 minutes walk to Trindade station where one can take E train(starts at 6am) or 3M bus (every 30 minutes, all day) to OPO Airport. Too many unmarked food items in the refrigerator.

The front door staff was so helpful. Evie was our favourite. The washrooms and kitchen were kept spotless.

The staff are really nice and helpful. They are the Guru of Porto. Any questions they could give perfect answers and suggestions! It has the laundry service, 5 Eur for wash+dry, though not the business machine, but more than enough. The staff took care for me even, just gave the dirty ones, then get dry and clean back after exploring the city. Maybe the bowl in the kitchen. I couldn’t find any bowl in the kitchen.

Excelent location, and facilities. Very clean.

Very good staff, available, ideally placed 2 min away from Bolhao Market that s a minor point, but safecase to store personal stuff in the room should be bigger and more ideally placed than in the bed case
