My husband and I booked 3 nights at Armazém Luxury Housing- Architectural & Design Hotel because of the reviews and its central location in Porto but with some concerns about possible noise. We loved our stay at this lovely boutique hotel that melds old world charm with modern day amenities and put us within walking distance of many of the things we wanted to do and see in Porto. Our two-room suite facing the main street was spacious and comfortable with a view of cafes and street musicians that were entertaining during the day while at night, our room was amazingly quiet and we slept really well on the comfortable bed. Staff (shout out to our favorites, Pedro and Jorge-sorry if I misspelled your name) were just fantastic: friendly, helpful and very informative with great suggestions for restaurants. The breakfast buffet was tasty with an option for made-to-order eggs and coffee. A minor complaint: service at breakfast was sometimes spotty and slow. Overall, we had a 5-star experience and would definitely stay here again.

I booked a 4 day stay at Armazém after having completed a Camino de Santiago hike. I was looking for luxury & comfort at a centrally located hotel within walking distance of the historical district of Porto. The hotel is gorgeous. A beautiful combination of old/new/rustic/contemporary decor, design & architecture in calming colors & paint palettes. My room was on the 2nd floor, accessible via elevator. I had 2 step out balconies which faced the extremely busy plaza below. The room facilities were lovely, a comfortable platform bed & a large shower that actually contained the water within the shower stall. Breakfast, which was described to me as "continental", was actually a full meal complete with custom made omelettes, cheeses, pastries, breads, fruits & drinks all served on vintage linen place mats with linen napkins. The location is perfect, so centrally located to shops, churches, restaurants, the river...anywhere you'd want to go was essentially walking distance. Numerous restaurants in the plaza, all incredibly delicious. I dined at every one. I didn't have much interaction with the staff but when I did, everyone was kind & helpful. A few did not speak English well but language barriers aren't an issue for me. There's always a way to communicate. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Seemed less hotel & more a lovely Portugal apartment. I'd easily give this hotel 5 stars but for the few minor issues that may or may not bother other guests. The lighting is bad, dim, dark in some areas. In the evening, can barely read small print. Don't count on reading a book in bed at night unless you use the light from your cell phone. My bed was platform style. Comfortable with great linens but the wooden platform corners stuck out. Watch out for banging your shins on the corner...which I did numerous times. No closets for hanging clothing, just a small rod by the bed with only a few hangers. Breakfast starts at 8 AM. If you are planning early excursions (which I did) you will miss the breakfast. Out of the 4 days I stayed, was only able to dine once, the morning I was departing. There is only a handful of rooms so the hotel is quiet. The front door stays locked & one must ring a doorbell for access. If you don't want to hear the noise from the plaza, & it stays noisy until 1 1 AM, request a room in the back. I hired an Uber to take me to the Armazén after arriving in Porto. The area is closed to traffic so I was dropped off about 1 block away & had to carry my luggage uphill. Make sure you are capable of this. A bottle of complimentary water was available in the room on check in but never replenished. For the cost of the room, I think a new bottle every day is in order.

Amazing breakfast

Amazing location, every room is just as depicted in the photos. One of those places that you wonder why it isn’t more expensive! Would absolutely stay again.

The location was excellent right on the pedestrian shopping street. Stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. Very nice with stunning interior design, modern but still felt old world charm. Lots of stairs to get to the apartment and once inside there are stairs to access each level, the bedrooms, living area etc. For us this was not a problem and added to the uniqueness of the apartment but if you have mobility issues this could be an issue for you.

It was centrally located, but quiet it was very clean and the staff went above and beyond to take care of us. There’s nothing I did not like about this property

A truly wonderful stay, highlighted by its excellent location and a beautiful breakfast in a cozy, aesthetic setting, along with consistently excellent service from the staff. A very thoughtful touch at checkout was a teddy bear gifted to my daughter, which made our departure especially memorable. Definitely a place we would love to return to. Thank you!! N/A

The location is perfect for exploring Porto and enjoying nearby restaurants in the evening. Our room was very dark. The lighting was unique and creative but not very functional.

The location was so ideal and the staff made the stay exceptional. It was nice to be greeted with a little sweet treat and some tea. Wonderful turn down service and good recommendations for things to do and places to eat. I would definitely stay again!

The location of Armazem Luxury Housing is exceptional and far exceeded our expectations. The breakfast is wonderful and met all of our dietary requirements. The rooms are extremely clean, quiet, and the air conditioning was phenomenal. Further the beds were some of the most comfortable we have ever slept on. However, the staff is what made the experience so enjoyable and memorable. They considered our every need and pleasantly surprised us with their commitment to exceptional hospitality. We have several travel changes and ended ups staying at the hotel twice in a week, as we firmly believe any other hotel in Porto would have disappointed us. We cannot recommend the hotel enough. If you are traveling to Porto-stay here! Everything was wonderful!

The hotel was central to Porto’s tourist district yet private and quiet once inside. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was quite large for the room and it was a bit awkward but was also extremely comfortable.

Breakfast was wonderful every morning. The hotel was centrally located and convenient for our purposes.

Beautifully decorated hotel. Comfy bed and pillows. Great bathroom amenities. Ideal location. Busy area, but the room was very quiet. Great breakfast. Gracious staff. Everything was wonderful.

Awesome vibe! Artsy and cool hotel. Amazing location. We literally saw all of Porto on foot without needing any Uber/transportation. Decent breakfast. I loved the buzzing neighborhood. If you’re an introvert who loves a quiet location, this in probably it the place for you. We absolutely loved it. Fern was amazingly friendly and nice! Bathroom could use better lighting.
