Canto de Luz

We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa for 6 people. It was very comfortable, lots of space and clean. The fresh breakfast was great every morning and the staff was sooooooo accommodating and nice.

The property was nice. Especially the jasmine bushes in front of our apartment Welcoming was the worst! From that point on we felt very uncomfortable. They said they sent mails to finish the checking. I did not receive the ones they mentioned. I even showed my spam and regular mailbox and whatsapp messages from them. That is still not the horrible part. We were so tired and i told her, please let us get to our room first and do them there if possible, since it took her forever to find a way to send us the documents that needed to be signed. I found a solution at the end for her to send me documents through airdrop. They did not even had a hard copy of the documents! We came to the place earlier to leave our luggage and they could have done it by then as well. We had to do it late at night with all this hassle. Above all, while we were having troubles with this documents exchange, other guests came in and she chatted with them and helped them with their inquiries as we were waiting with no patience downstairs. When I went up, i had to tell her-please finish with us and do the next inquiries. She told ke- i ak the only one here! I cannot believe that we have to explain her that she has to finish with one and especially with the ones who are very tired and disappointed, and solve the other’s issues. The employees look like they are good people in general but unfortunately two of them are definitely should not be incharge of a place like this. This is coming from a frequent travelers

Property is clean, comfortable and inviting. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Rooms are spacious with a small kitchen, fridge, washer/dryer. Location is great..easy to walk to many sites. Breakfasts were amazing! We had a wonderful time! Room temperature was too warm for our preference and even when we turned the temperature down, room still felt warm.

The morning breakfast chefs outdid themselves daily. It was the highlight of our stay to start our day with their sweets and specialties! Location was great. Super neighborhood restaurants. Plunge pool was needed and refreshing after walking up hills all day! There was a heating issue in our bathroom that could not be fixed during our stay, but they were apologetic!

Feels like you are staying at a family member's house abroad. Staff were excellent.

What a gem of a hotel. The staff were all attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were out of this world with wonderful daily specials. The room had everything you needed, fabulous shower along with rituals toiletries. It was great to have a room code and no requirement for a key card. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Nothing

We loved your hotel! We spent 2 nights with 7 friends last weekend and would highly recommend staying again and referring it to friends. It felt like a little hideaway, an oasis, and we walked everywhere in the center from the hotel – the location was perfect. The staff made our stay extra special, going above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and well taken care of. We absolutely loved the breakfast – it was delicious, with a great variety, and the team really made us feel like royals! From the warm welcome to the little details throughout our stay, everything was perfect. Thank you for making our trip so memorable – we can't wait to return!

You will never find joy staying at Canto De Luz simply because their policies are not transparent and open. At least, Portugal is a fine country to compensate awfully differences during my stay at Canto De Luz. The staff will tell you different thing and promise you with their own expectation. The truth is: the false sincerity given to me and the fake smiles they gave during my stay. It was really awful. The place is never a luxury because it has a basement unit with a long flight of stairs. If you have a large luggage, you will be in trouble carrying up and down the stairway.

The interior is bright, contemporary, cherry. Linens are high quality, beds very comfortable, rooms seemed soundproof as it was very quiet. Staff is great and breakfast is delicious.

Exceptional

This was absolutely the best place to stay. Convenient to everything. They made restaurant reservations for us. We had laundry done there that was not expensive and was back the same day. The breakfast was amazing. Even the takeaway breakfast was delicious! The people were so incredibly kind. The shower was hot and strong. They have a “magic” wine machine that was great. Maybe the best bed and breakfast I have stayed at!!! There was not one bad thing!

The staff were personable, friendly, responsive and proactive. They were more than hospitable treating us like guest to their home. Lots of great locals’ recommendations from the breakfast staff as well of non-touristy things that were well worth checking out. Susan reached out prior to check in with all the necessary information to enable a seamless experience even advising us that we can leave our luggage and enjoy the amenities before our apartment was ready for check-in and after check out. There were additional offerings such as wine tasting and welcome wine / pasta De nata as well as popcorn! Our apartment had a private pool and outdoor dining areaas well which added to the oasis from the city life of Porto. The apartment had everything and more for a wonderful stay. It was very modern, quiet and surprisingly larger than expected. The location is great, lots of restaurant and bars nearby and walkable to all the main attractions. If you also need a hire car we can't recommend M.Cunha who have offices nearby and can drop the car to you (best car hire experience I've had to date, period). We would highly recommend and look forward to our next stay! Thank you! Nothing.

Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very engaged with us and informative. The whole place felt quite homely. Our room was very comfortable, we didn't want to leave!
