The Dominican
About The Dominican
Housed in a Gothic and Renaissance building still showing parts of its origin back in 1319, Dominican Hotel can be found right at the heart of the Golden City, close to the National Library and the Old Town Square. Surrounded by picturesque narrow cobbled alleys, the hotel is only 984 feet away from famous Charles Bridge and is also very close to all the other sights of Prague's Old Town, like the Old Town Square with the Astronomical Clock. All the rooms and bathrooms have been renovated just recently and are equipped with all modern amenities, but without altering the 14th-century looks with original wooden painted beams in some of the rooms. The entire hotel is fully air conditioned, offers a 24-h reception and multilingual, friendly staff to assist you at all times.

The location was excellent and very helpful staff. The noise from outside and other guests, difficult to control the noise outside as the location is so central.

The location was great. Nice bathtub. The room was a great size. Towels were not good quality and there were no washcloths. Toiletries were below average. Pillows and bedding need updating.

The hotel's location was very convenient to reach the old city and close enough to regroup. The rooms were very nice, spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, and our request was attended to. While we enjoyed aspects of our stay, I wanted to share some feedback because the overall experience did not quite meet the 4-star standards we expected. Room Amenities: Upon arrival, we noticed a few areas where the service could be elevated. For a hotel of this caliber, we expected the mini-fridge to be stocked and for complimentary items, like the welcome fruit plate, to be refreshed or refilled during our stay. Breakfast Experience: The breakfast selection was average. The fruit variety was quite limited, the milk options were not clearly labelled, and the coffee machine was somewhat challenging to use. Furthermore, no dedicated staff member was available in the dining area to assist guests or manage refills. We felt immense compassion for the lady in the kitchen, who was working incredibly hard to run the entire breakfast service completely on her own. She clearly needed more support. Reception & Tour Booking: The receptionist was very helpful in arranging a tour for us, which we appreciated. However, due to a slight communication gap, some key details were lost in translation. It would have been incredibly helpful to receive clearer instructions beforehand about what was included in the price and that we needed to bring cash.

It was centrally located, so it couldn’t be better for a pedestrian trying to get to the main old town sites. The breakfast was really good and the manager there, Katerina treated us like royalty. Just as a welcome, they sent us up a plate of cut up fruit and the front desk clerk was exceptional in her helpfulness. Her name is Leisa and she booked us a wonderful classical music concert at a nearby church that was one minute away and that was the most amazing concert ever at Saint Giles Church. I highly recommend this Hotel.

Location was absolutely excellent - ideally get in or out in the early morning or late night hours because otherwise the foot traffic is going to wreck your taxi. Alternatively using bus/train can work but be advised its all cobblestone for blocks on all sides so rolling suitcases is less than ideal. Nothing to dislike - the hotel was a bit of a maze but the front desk can help you find your way. That being said it's just a very old historic building so there's not much to be done with it, although front desk will also help with your luggage because there are a lot of unavoidable stairs.

Central location Our rooms were on the top floor under the roof, ceiling was very low in parts of the room and we banged our head regularly. Also the windows were extremely small with barely any light coming in even though it was a very bright and sunny weekend. And the staff was not helpful (apart from 1 gentleman).
