When we arrived the elevator was broken and I felt that some token accommodation should've been offered. The weekend desk managers seemed young and a little clueless, certainly for people in the "hospitality" industry to say nothing of a hotel of this caliber. The magnified mirror in the bathroom was broken and no great effort was made to fix it. Not a bad experience but not a great one.

Hotel was beautiful! Food in restaurant was good. Central location, near cute shops. The property is right across the street from a shelter, so there were constantly a group of men hanging around outside yelling at you. It was uncomfortable, especially as we were 4 women traveling alone. The staff all seemed to not care about anything. They were extremely nonchalant. The beds are loud for some reason. Fruits for buffet were rotten and flies were everywhere on food. Room had no hand soap or conditioner upon arrival.

The room was very quiet and comfortable and the shower was nice. Was hoping for free parking and the TV's did not have any streaming apps. Also there was an additional "amenities fee" in addition to the Expedia booking price. Overall good hotel and would stay there again.

and night its awful and scary! Also we paid in full to Expedia for our trip then the hotel charges us 56.00 dollars at check in when asked why they said expedia. doesnt pay this amount !

Great historic hotel.
-
They stuck us in rooms which had windows facing walls. No view. Also, the parking valets were slow.
-
Very pretty hotel love the historic look. Parking situation isn’t the greatest but small potatoes really. Excellent walkable area to restaurants etc. hats off to the staff at DD they were awesome.

The staff were all friendly and kind. It was a lovely comfortable respite from the summer heat and close to many excellent cafes.
-
Clean room and comfortable bed. Neighborhood was not great, a lot of noise past midnight.

This is a lovely, old-fashioned hotel with large rooms and very good amenities. It’s conveniently located to walk to Brown and RISD, and many good shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Staff are very helpful and friendly, and valet staff are especially diligent and accommodating. There’s noticeable wear here and there —in elevator, for example—but nothing that bothered us. Walking down the street takes one through a gauntlet of hangers-out but almost all are behaving—just very “downtown.”

I had an excellent stay at Hotel Providence. The customer service was outstanding --- everyone was welcoming, helpful, and attentive throughout my visit, The room was spacious, comfortable, and well maintained. The location was fantastic for exploring the area. I truly enjoyed my stay and would absolutely come back again!

Nice older hotel downtown. Did not explain the need for overnight parking would be 45.00 dollars or would be towed.
