The manager is very, very rude, from the moment I booked he spoke to me terribly and cursed at me as soon as I cancelled the booking (because he behaved like that). People like that don't deserve to be successful as hostel managers, and I recommend everyone not to come here and support such disrespectful behavior.

Although it is set up for a social scene, there wasn’t much while we were there. The room is also a bit cramped.

The location is optimal to be able to move around the city. Pretty near of metro and many good restaurants around. I guess the beds could be bigger but i am finding this problem in any hostel here in brazil.

Staff were lovely, the hostel was neat and tidy and a cool set up. Room had aircon at night Location felt quite suburban. The hostel was practically always empty (which could be a good or bad thing). Lots of stairs, about 3 flights if you're rooms on the top level.

This has been the nicest hostel i stayed on my Southern American trip. Location is perfect, Botafogo has it all. Metrostation is nearby, fantastic restaurants, local beach. It takes just 10-15 min to reach Copacabana or Ipanema by Metro. Also the centro is easily reachable by metro. The prices around that area are reasonable and had no concerns about safety. The rooftop area is just the perfect place for relaxing after a long day, enjoying some drinks, socializing and admiring the statue of the Christ. The property has everything to help you and the staff is just fantastic - just ask and they'll find the solution. Also the breakfast option - it was really delicious and affordable.

    Good

It's a really nice hostel the rooftop from which you can see the Christ statue. The location of the hostel is really good to connect to Copacabana/Ipanema but also the center. Outstanding is the lovely staff helping with anything you might need and always open for a chat ❤️ Great hostel for that price! The hostel might need some renovation, at least the shower drain didn't work properly and cleaning could be bit better.

The staff (eg in the kitchen Ellie and another lovely woman whose name I can‘t recall) and the receptionists were all lovely to me. The view from the Terrace is amazing (Cristo), both at day and night. I was able to switch rooms once and felt happier in my new room. You can get good breakfasts here for an extra 18 reais. It wasn‘t clean, especially the kitchen was not in a good state; I understand that prices soar everywhere during carnival, but this definitely wasn’t worth the money I paid (too expensive for what it was). Guests can‘t access their food in the fridge on their own, only if and when the staff get it for them (so also limited to certain times). I felt unjustly accused of some things in a conversation asking for help from the owner one time and received some snarky comments/gaslighting (accused of racism because I asked to switch rooms when I was uncomfortable by other guests behavior) but then another other time he was lovely to me and helped when a situation arose and he was nice also when I checked out. Not sure what to think. Unfortunately that one conversation over WhatsApp really put a damper on everything… Personally, I would prefer to stay in another neighborhood next time, too.

The personal is not that kind … unfortunately the hostel is really clean. And you need to ask the permission to access the fridge all the time. You are not allowed to touch it … It’s way to much expensive for what it is …

Good location, well connected to main points in rio. The staff were friendly and helpful, with an amazing view of Cristo redentor from the terrace garden N/A

I spent almost a week in Tupiniquim hostel and had a blast there. Even if it's not a 5 star hostel, the kindness of the staff, the good time spent with the other guests, the location and the price makes it a super good choice for a stay in Rio ! Thank you !

Good location and decent breakfast, close to a really cute neighbourhood. Nice terrace overlooking the cristo redentor The vibe of the whole place is very fussy - loads of complicated rules and everything feels like it’s harder than it needs to be - I received many messages written in a weird snarky tone, you have to send a text to eat breakfast, the showers need you to keep pressing a button so that the water stays on. Nothing about the place felt relaxing. Also in my room the tap in the bathroom didn’t work. The place isn’t terrible, I just found the general vibe exhausting
